Does this map have famous cities other than capitals?

The A3 world map contains selected capital cities from around the world, but other major cities are not included. The A4 United Kingdom Map does have many of the bigger towns and cities from around the UK.

You would think people who make maps would be able to refer to it as Ireland and the UK

you would, but then again when you see what the have done in terms of segmenting Northern Ireland (not using counties) you could assume that cartography is not their strong point

Is this approx A3 size?

Yes the world map is A3 size exactly, and the bonus UK map is A4 size.
