It's a curved piece of plastic that is hollow for a dozen or so millimeters. A colored rubber skin is on top of that plastic. The hollow segment is very short and requires cutting the metal frame of your glasses. That's no problem if they look and work OK; however, the transition from the frame of my glasses to the plastic curve is the only place they bend. I think most people imagine wire temple ends to flex along the length of the curve, but I can only get them to bend at that one point. It looks a little odd.They do keep my glasses on better, but the unusual look of them bending only in the one spot is unpleasant. It is impossible to go back to my old stem because installing these requires cutting the arm of my glasses. These curved stems are OK, and I would have given them 3-stars if I could have gone back to my old temples. However, after trying these, I would have preferred to go back to my old temples if it were possible.

The product is perfect for it's intention and also comfortable.Just one delivery problem, I ordered black and it came out on brown.

My husband has limited choices on eyeglass frames from the VA. He wanted cable temples, but he could not get them. We ordered these and now his glasses fit firmly. I’m surprised that optical departments don’t provide this service. It was easy.
