VIVE XR Elite—All-in-one XR and PC-VR gaming system

Only bought this in July 2025 and it's wonky and has snapped around the earpiece!!..Casing is poor quality!!

This is simply the best VR experience I have had. The technology is incredible, with no external tracking devices needed - as well as gesture control. Its very comfy to wear, and the battery at the back means the weight is balanced with the screen at the front. It also of course means no cables - making everything much more immersive. If you'd rather sacrifice cable-free for unlimited life then you can also plug it into the PC and swap the battery for the "arms" so it's more like a pair of glasses. I think you will need a special cable for that, though. There is no latency, and the pass through is crisp - and a great feature to have. The controllers are surprisingly light, and I expected a bit more weight to them. Set up was intuitive and easy - with helpful instructions along the way - and its adaptable to whatever space you have available. Also really nice to see essentially no plastic in the packaging at all. Make sure you check the packaging thoroughly as three USB C cables are included to charge everything - I assumed they wouldn't be included, so rummaged around the house before realising they were included...

I have had a number of headsets, from DK2, Oculus Rift, Quest 2, Quest Pro, Pimax5K+ & Pimax 8KX. As much as I wanted this headset to be better. I managed to get visuals very close to what the Pro does but pro just has that slight better clarity. The air link via Oculus for wireless PCVR is superior to the Vive XR Elite version. Vive has better pass through for using your phone with the headset on. The weight is less. But considering this when looking at VR and playing games its not enough. The Pro controllers also have camera tracked controllers which allow you to put them behind your head without tracking loss. Vive has the ring tracked IR I believe it is and its great but looses tracking if the hmd cant see your controllers. For the price tag of £1299 against Metas Pro at £1000 it isn't enough I feel. Especially when you get integrated facial tracking etc with the pro. The pro feels super premium and quality in build. The Vive feels a wee cheapy in terms of the plastic controllers. may seem odd but it doesn't feel like it should be £1300. Anyways as much as I appreciate the tech itself and the work gone into it I think the Pro is way better. It also performs better on my steam games when pushing setting up for higher resolutions. Much simpler to get going into games and all round better value for money even at £1000. My PC has a I9 9900k clocked to 4.7 Ghz all cores, 128GB Ram, 2Tb M.2 & RTX3090. I air link with Wifi 6E dedicated router for the Air link facility. Buttery smooth with the pro. Not so with the Vive. Each to their own but for the price difference Meta wins. I don't always agree with how Meta do as they do but this time Q Pro wins all the way. I was wanting a new hmd so me the wife and my son could play wirelessly together. May get another Pro or may just await the Pimax Crystal. Hope this review helps some folks when spending large money on VR. Please see attached some pics, i had modded some bits on all removable to aid comfort on both hmds. Notable youd not need this for vive as its light and comfy but the pro does benefit so you dnt have to tighten the fourhead plate and cause ache or irritation. Other advantage is using the velcro allows me to add additional battery for longer wireless play. For those who may fond it handy a 20k battery work best for time added and its output. Had a 10k on the vive. Great but 20k is best. 😁😁

I purchased the Vive XR Elite almost two weeks ago now and have held off reviewing it to get a real feel for the product - and so far I am very, very impressed. I've had the chance to try out various headsets in the past, but nothing truly comes close to the experience that the Vive XR Elite delivers. It comes well packaged (see pictures) and for the most part setup was fairly simple and I had no issues getting everything going. For the less technical, you should be absolutely fine following the instructions. The main use for me is PCVR streaming - and this has easily been the best device I've used for that, it supports wireless streaming much like the Quest with airlink and I've had a really smooth experience. Of course with the price tag it demands you would expect nothing less, but I'm happy that is definitely delivered on this part. Comfort during extended use has always been a pain for me in VR, so far the Vive XR Elite has been the comfiest experience, but naturally does get a bit uncomfortable for really long sessions. It's hands down the lightest headset I've ever worn, which really helps for the inevitable long VR puzzle games I inevitably get stuck in!! Apps wise I'm really happy, good solid range, I play a bunch of fitness apps which have all ran incredibly smoothly. stand alone apps are fantastic with all the staples you'd expect. Gifted apps are a really nice addition to see, similar to what steam does, I didn't really think I'd need that until I used it. if you're a true VR aficionado and want the best of the best, the Vive XR Elite is your answer in my opinion, even at the slightly higher price tag.

The headset itself is not bad. The tech is interesting. Small form factor, pancake lenses, depth camera's ar and vr, hand sensor and controller input, colour pass through. It's light weight. Wireless or wired pc connection. Pcvr games run brilliant when connected. My issue is the faceplate. It hurts your face, what were htc thinking? One size does not fit all faces. The fabric is fine, but there is plenty of light seeping in and the plastic inside thd plate digs into my face. Some users will be fine, but many won't. Htc or third party's need to make some to fit users who need them. It's vr, the absolute requirement before you get to good resolution and fov is it HAS to sit comfortably on the face..or you simply won't use it. Who is going to use vr if it hurts you ? Easy fix, hopefully soon. The other is FOV. It's like looking through a toilet roll tube. This is because of its small size tho. Also, your not going to get your spectacles/glasses to fit in this. It does have diopters you can adjust for removing eyewear, but unless your prescription falls into what you can dial in, it's useless. For any small headed non glasses wearing user this headset is fine. Compared to that now apple offering its also half the price. There is also no haptic touch pad, so all those old pc vr titles you bought for the old vive headset like fallout and skyrim? Yeh forget it, they don't work. Hooked up to a PC wirelessly is awesome, but it comes at a cost. I would hold out for the oled to be the standard. I also own psvr2 for gaming, and that headset its way way better than this.

Overhyped , Overpriced

Great VR headset and very comfortable to wear.... the lightest headset I have used. As I wear glasses, the dioper is great as I don't need it when using the headset. Controllers super light but could do with a bit more weight. Setup was easy ... and I love the environmental friendly packaging. Overall impressive piece of kit.

I was really hoping this one would deliver. But no even close to the Meta Quest pro. Especially now its been dropped in price!

everywhere they say eye tracking which this headset doesn't have unless you have add on, and good luck on finding that because you won't, I bought it thinking it I will get eye tracking. I don't not recommended not easy to get comfortable and to get the full experiences you have to buy their strip face tracking etc, so no I don't want this and sending back without a second thought

appena avviato ha dato diversi problemi tra cui disconnessioni di rete, non installava app ne giochi, riportava errori tipo "impossibile creare cartella" o "errore installazione" ... poi ho fatto reset un paio di volte e aggiornato sia firmware che sistema operativo e un paio di problemi sembrano risolti ... tuttavia su alcuni titoli resta il "errore installazione" ... cercando in internet ho trovato che altre persone hanno lo stesso problema quindi "o alcuni visori nascono male" "o il problema sta nelle app e non nel visore" ... detto questo ho notato che la prima parte delle app viene scaricata, ma il problema è quando deve scaricare i file OBB ... quindi penso sia più un problema software che hardware ... ad ogni modo visto che ho un mese per essere idoneo al reso ... per ora continuo a provarlo ... e se non ha ulteriori problemi, mi diaspiace per i giochi inclusi che NON posso scaricare, ma se il problema è solo quello non penso che sostituendolo lo risolvo ... se invece i problemi fossero altri ... CONCLUDO dicendo: se vi arriva come a me, prima di disperare fare un reset totale e aggiornate sistema operativo e firmware e il 90% va a posto ... resta il problema dei giochi inclusi che non si installano :(

Acheté en remplacement d'un Occulus Rift S qui m'a lâché moins de 5 ans après son achat et que j'avais payé cher à l'époque. Ce casque VR (je parle du HTC VIVE XR Elite) est tout bonnement exceptionnel. Il peut être utilisé avec ou sans la batterie. Sans batterie, il faudra le connecter avec un câble USB C d'une longueur suffisante pour en profiter. Utilisé avec la batterie, il permettra de l'utiliser avec une autonomie moyenne de 2h environ bien que je ne l'ais pas encore utilisé jusque-là. Il est connectable à un PC via le wifi, le Bluetooth et l'USB C. Il dispose d'une mémoire intégrée de 128 Go suffisante pour les apps du VIVE Store mais il vaut mieux passer par le stockage interne du PC (HDD ou SSD). Il est impératif de lancer l'app Vive pour accéder à la VR mais l'on pourra paramétrer automatiquement si l'on désire. Steam et les jeux installés compatibles VR sont accessibles immédiatement dans l'app VIVE. Le casque est d'une légèreté étonnante, il n'y a pas d'effet de transpiration ou d'irritations du cuir chevelu comme cela avait été le cas avec le Rift S, ce qui me valait de ne plus supporter ce casque au bout de 30 mn d'utilisation. Les manettes VR sont uniquement rechargeables, pas de piles ou de batteries rechargeables à insérer. Trois câbles USB C sont bien fournis contrairement à la description. Seul bémol, on ne peut les recharger tous les trois en même temps (casque, joystick gauche et droite). Le son du casque est plutôt moyen à mon goût et j'ai tendance à privilégier le son de mes haut-parleurs 2.1 excepté si vous jouer à 3h du mat et que vous ne voulez pas vous attirer des ennuis avec vos voisins. La qualité graphique est excellente avec suivi des mouvements très bons. On pourra définir l'aire de jeu automatiquement ou manuellement. Je ne l'ai pas encore couplé avec un smartphone pour le mode miroir. Là où ça pique méchamment, c'est son prix : entre 1000 et 1300€ suivant la variation des prix. Pour ma part, je ne regrette pas mon achat et il vaut largement son prix et écrase la concurrence sans aucune mesure. A noter : un code de sécurité (obligatoire) est demandé lors de la livraison, cela évite de voir son achat perdu surtout à ce prix là.

HTC deberia acabar sus productos antes de ponerles en el mercado. Es mi tercer headset VR que tengo y desde lejo es el peor : se apaga mientras se carga, pierde connexion, el cable de 1m no permite usarlo de pie, la bateria no tarda ni dos horas, requiere 30w de power para el uso con cable, cuando la gran mayoria de ordenadores, incluso high-end, no tienen esta potencia de carga por usb, y cada problema que encuentras pues te vas a buscar la solución en los foros : total no hay soluciones y solo lees comentarios de usuarios decepcionados que devuelven este producto. No volvere a comprar nunca en htc, es una vergüenza meter un producto asi en el mercado. Yo uso VR para game dev y este producto me va FATAL.
