Alessi Birillo | PL10 W - Design Bathroom Waste Bin, White

When looking for a bin for my newly renovated bathroom I found the majority of the bins had no lids. Why would anyone want to throw away rubbish into a bin with no lid and see all the rubbish? This bin is a definite work of art and it needs to be to justify the price. It is expensive but it’s so much more than a bin, it’s an elegant piece of bathroom furniture. The design is smartly made so there are no catches, brackets, levers or anything that can break. The lid is solid and weighted with a knob on each side that fits into a recess so the lid rocks under its own weight. It is easy to clean just with a wet cloth and retains its shine between cleans. The only minor criticism I have is the size. It’s slightly smaller than I would initially have chosen but will fit all the essentials (empty toilet rolls, toothpaste tubes etc) but won’t fit any of the larger bottles of empty shampoo. This is not a deal breaker for me and still rate it 5 stars for how lovely it looks and the comments I get on it.

It’s is pricey but design is good compared to most bathroom bins on the market. It is a small but it suits my purpose and goes well with my bathroom decor. Also the small size looks unobtrusive. I use laufen Riva WC which has a bidet. My toilet brush is also white and is Italian made with a unique design. So overall pleased. My feedback to the manufacturer is

Plastic so there will be no corrosion if used in a bathroom. It has a ring inside the lid for a 3ltr bag, that will hide any untidy plastic from sticking out from under the lid. The lid shape does tend to catch splashes and needs continuous cleaning. Only possible negative - the lid flap lugs are very thin, I clean the bin very carefully as they may snap.

Although this little bin is expensive it is very stylish and a perfect size for my needs. A Brabantia 3L bin bag fits nicely too! So delighted not to have a clanging pedal bin and also something without any metal parts. Delighted with it and to me and it us worth the money to finish off my brand new bathroom.

Although this small waste bin is very expensive it is also very nice! It looks smart in my new bathroom and is exactly what I was looking for. All of the Alessi Birillo bathroom range does look nice and I am hoping to add a couple more pieces in time.

I was looking for a while at this little bin and reading all the reviews. It's so cute and small but so practical. Really happy with it so far. It's pricey but worth it! 😊

It looks good, it is stylish, seems strong and although because of the design you can't get much in. However what really like is the 6 litre bags remain secure due to the band which goes over the bag and a lip. Quality at a price.

Wasn't expecting this from Alessi - just a terrible design. The mechanism of the whole thing is just bad. you can only out a few things in the bin becasue the lid flips up and down to open and hits the rubbish if it full even at halfway. Just poor.

Klar ist der Eimer teuer aber auch schlicht, schick und es geht mehr rein als man ursprünglich meint. für ein kleines Bad optimal. ich brauchte einen Mülleiner der unter den Waschtisch passt weil sonst kein platz ist im kleinen Badezimmer. Und da der Eimer oben flach ist passt er perfekt drunter. Für meine Zwecke optimal.
