Always worked well for engine work.
Never had an issue using this if you follow the directions. Even when I don't leave it for enough time, this has helped me fix a few oil leaks.Only once my car's rear main seal leaked after changing it and using this - but I had to remove it after install because I didn't add enough RTV so the re-install might have caused my leak anyway. Either way, I wish I had followed the time guidance for that one!It will stay liquidy(?) for a few minutes at least - no need to panic if you have to apply then install something awkward. I would try again with new stuff after 20 mins if it's important and you haven't managed to seal your job together.Seems to set enough to use after an hour or two but it will not be at full strength.It's very easy to apply once, then you'll have to sort out how you're going to store it without it hardening in the nozzle.SO messy! I don't care, I don't want to remove an oil pan for a second time so I use this.

My 1990 Mercedes SL 300-24 suddendly had a leak around the thermostat area, i used this red RTV to seal and to make a new metal to metal seal, it worked.ALSO i used this product as a temp repair on my Triumph TR6 rear silencer , It lasted a long time.
