A Plastic Housing with Restricted Cooling
My M&B NVMe fit perfectly in this 2.5" adapter. From there I was able to get my Window 11 system up and running with no issues. At the $7 I paid for this, I'd say it was a good deal. There is one issue that should be noted when purchasing: There is no real way for the heat to dissipate. The case is plastic and doesn't provide for any cooling. (This wasn't a problem for my usage as the system this drive is in sees very limited use.)

Excellent M.2 to 2.5" SATA adapter
I bought two of these adapters to convert a couple of my old Samsung 860 EVO M.2 version drives into a 2.5" SATA interface. The product pictures showed a bare PCB and compared to some more expensive products I thought well I'm saving a couple bucks not to get a cover, that's fine for me. To my surprise this adapter comes with a plastic cover as well, which when screwed on, it looks like an normal 2.5" SSD. The cover isn't amazing but it's just a cover; the cover is full plastic and all the screws are self-tapping so don't expect to be swapping the M.2 SSD all the time without the cover breaking eventually. Even the normal side screw holes for mounting into your PC is full plastic. When buying this adapter just imagine you're buying an adapter for a great price and you're getting the plastic cover as a bonus. Installing my M.2 SSD was a breeze and it came with extra mounting screws, extra cover screws, and it comes with a proper standoff for 80mm length drives, and extra standoffs if you have a 60mm or 40mm drive. As for PC compatibility, I have a couple normal Samsung 2.5" SSDs and on the connector side they match up perfectly so if you're looking for a 2.5" adapter that fits into backplanes this will work perfectly. I did some basic testing on the PC side and it looks like everything is passthrough so SMART data, TRIM, work just fine as long your host supports these. I notice a lot of reviews say they don't tell you what drives it works on and doesn't, but they do tell you. Apart from the description telling you a bunch of NVMe SSDs that don't work with this product, tt's clearly written that this is for mSATA and NGFF. And if there's still some confusion, the first result on Google will tell you that NGFF is what these people call the old M.2 SATA version of these drives. While on your search you can look up if you old M.2 SSD is a SATA or NVMe product. Overall, very happy with this purchase and I definitely recommend this over many other solutions offered for sale.

Works just fine
Simple elegant just lacks instructions. The tiny screws hold the chasis together.

not great with m2 ssd, works fine with msata
i got the dual adapter to use with both an msata and an m2 ssd i had laying around. i was able to get the msata working fine with chromebook, windows 10 and windows 11. the m2 ssd was much different, it only worked intermittantly and had the tendency to actually lock up windows temporarly and actually caused the chromebook to reboot once. i was sitting around watching movies so i played around with it for hours till i found a way to make it work with chromebook. i can plug in my adapter to the chromebook without the m2 ssd installed, then push the ssd into the slot, so long as i don't eject or unplug it will work fine on chromebook. i have to repeat the process everytime i want to use it, i cannot plug/unplug it will no longer work, without removing the SSD from the slot and putting it back after the adapter is plugged in. this technech will not work with windows, the m2 ssd mode is not usable with windows

A Tiny Adapter That Became My Archaeologist for Forgotten SSDs
I bought the ELUTENG M.2 to SATA adapter for one very specific mission: recovering data from an ancient SSD I swore I had already โproperly dealt withโ years ago. Turns out I had not. The funny part is that the MSATA format itself feels like a relic from a parallel timeline. Itโs not exactly common anymoreโmore like something youโd find buried in a drawer next to old USB sticks, forgotten passwords, and emotional damage. But of course, I had one. Because I never throw anything away that might one day become a โdata recovery situation.โ This little adapter handled it like a champ. Plugged everything in, connected to SATA, and suddenly I was face-to-face with files from a past version of myself who used questionable folder naming conventions like โFINAL_FINAL_v2_REALLY_THIS_ONEโ. Pros: - Saved me from losing data I definitely shouldโve backed up properly - Works as a bridge between โmodern PCโ and โwhy did I still have this SSD?โ - Simple, compact, and does exactly what it promises - Surprisingly satisfying to revive old drives like digital archaeology Cons: - You will discover files you forgot existedโฆ and maybe wish you still had forgotten - MSATA compatibility feels like a niche within a niche within a museum exhibit - May trigger unexpected life reflection via old documents and photos - Encourages hoarding of outdated storage hardware โjust in caseโ Bottom Line: This adapter isnโt just a toolโitโs a time machine for forgotten tech. Perfect for rescuing old MSATA SSDs and confronting your past decisions one file directory at a time.

works for my offbrand m-sata card
Bought an m-sata SSD by accident. This works flawlessly to get it to work on my 22pin sata ports.

Works!!
It works, I used it to clone my 120 gb mSta to 512 GB mSata and this adapter worked as a charm.. I had one mSATA and one SATA HDD connector, I used this adapter connecting to SATA HDD connector, and put new 512 gb SSD to mSATA port and transferred the bootable by cloning.. removed the HDD adaptor put in my old HDD and booted without any issues from new 512 GB mSATA. Awesome.

not impressed
Most of this might be my fault BUT i did try to order what i thought was the correct item from the description given. Evidently the information supplied was NOT as clear to me as they assumed it would be. This device did not work for me as I tried to plug in a memory module MMv... and I got no joy. I thought this device would allow me to treat the memory module as an ssd hard drive but the computer did not even see it. I had to buy a housing with a USB connector on it and then everything was fine.

This adapter works well
It exceeded my expectation. I adapts not only M.2 Sata SSD but also NGFF SSDs There is a switch which determines which type of SSD you are using. For the money, It's a great adapter

Worked like a charm!
I had a SATA M.2 card that I bought for a small notebook that died and wanted to get the data off of it. I looked at m.2 docks that were at least 4X the price before I found this little gem. Connected the M.2 SATA drive in it, flipped the switch to NGFF from mSATA and popped it into my USB Dock... Presto! All my data quick and ready to go. Thanks!

Decent, comes with hardware
The board is well made, thick & solders are tight, no play in connectors. It does come with a plastic lid (not shown in pics) to fully enclose the drive. The plastic lid part is a bit flimsy, bends easily. The mounting holes in the plastic are not threaded, was a spooky experience mounting to PC bracket. Overall: Plastic parts bad, everything else good. Worth it if you're in a pinch and want to use a non NVMe M.2 SSD with SATA.
