Very effective. Fast absorbing. I can feel that I am absorbing the nutrients.

I am very pleased with this product. The last transdermal (through the skin) vitamin D I bought was a thick white cream which took a long time to sink in. I had to keep rubbing and rubbing, and eventually gave up. In contrast, this is amazing. Just a light rubbing and it’s all absorbed. I like the simplicity of this product: just a few ingredients, as contrasted to long lists of ingredients in other transdermal vitamin D’s. A little goes a long way, especially because the absorption is so complete. I put it on areas where my skin is soft and thin, avoiding fatty areas where the vitamin D becomes trapped in the fat and does not make it into the bloodstream where you want it. Sometimes I put it on my cheeks, because it will go right into the capillaries there. I have very sensitive skin, and this has been fine on my face. One reviewer complained about a strong alcohol smell. That is a non-issue. This product has none of those fake perfumes and scents. It just smells clean. Alcohol dries out the skin, but the ingredient in this gel which has some relationship to alcohol but is not alcohol is used in many skin products and is actually moisturizing for dry skin. I did a lot of research before my purchase. As a low budget person, I hesitated a lot before buying this. I totally do not regret it. Please do not overdose on vitamin D. Too much of it can calcify the soft tissues of the body and thus damage delicate structures like the arteries. Some health authorities say that taking vitamin D with vitamin K2, like in this gel, helps prevent that. But proceed with caution, knowing about this possibility.

Better than taking a pill. It seems to work but I won't know until I get my labs back.

So, I have not tried transdermal vitamins before. I have taken oral D3 with K2 m7 2000 iu D3 with 100mcg of K2 for the last 5-6 years after reading the literature and speaking with a family member who is an endocrinologist. I get levels measured every year or two along with other labs. I originally started to supplement when my job changed and I was getting much less sunlight and inside during the full day. My labs returned at 30 ng/ml which falls within normal limits for some medical bodies but, not all. NIH, the American Endocrine Society and European medical bodies have slightly different reference ranges for vitamin D. I don't subscribe to the mega does that some practitioners recommend. The 2000 iu brought me up to 45 ng/ml. I although there is no way to objectively measure it, I do feel "better" at 45ng/ml than when I was around 30 ng/ml. Better mental outlook, better sleep, fewer colds. I plan on applying the cream once per week and test in six months to see how the levels look.

Applies easily and skin softener.

I am very impressed with how fast this product has worked to heal the dry skin on my arms. I have tried several other products and I am truly impressed with this one.
