Pastel Colored Pencils Box Set of 12 by EIMA

Very happy with the pastel pencils! Got here very quickly.

I was so excited about these pastel pencils, with all I read of the descriptions. And then TOTAL disappointment!!! First, sharpening them was a total nightmare, I used 6 different sharpeners all made for pastel pencils. The cores are weak the wood around them way to hard. They all would break off way down in the core. Second, the texture is like a cross of a color pencil and a cheap crayon, to get any color you have to press hard and of course it breaks down in the core. I actually tore the pastel paper being I had to press so hard. The color was not what was promised, what I was expecting would be soft sweet color was more like a wax hard crayon. I had such high hopes for these pencils, I try to work with individuals that make their art supplies, I usually have such good luck with these, and I really would reather support them then the big distributors. But this time I chose wrong, And it is a pity.

not even a single pencil I was able to sharpen. the tip keeps breaking everytime I try to sharpen. I tried sharpening with a blade. still its the same

Very disappointed. You cannot sharpen these without the core falling out. The sides of the pencils have cracks up the side that widen with each attempt at sharpening. I've tried the tricks others have suggested , and the cores still break when sharpening. These were advertised as specially made by an artist ... But I don't believe it. "Made in China" is plainly printed on the package.

These pastels are fine. The colors are on the bright, intense spectrum rather than the softer colors, but that's fine if that's what you are looking for. The price is certainly reasonable and the quality is good.

I met the creator of EIMA and she did a sample piece for me. FYI: the artwork on the case was hand done by her. Great small batch art supplies. EIMA is my FAV art tool!!
