There are holes cut out for the speaker (picture 2) -- and the sound that comes out sounds great (not muffled). There is an elastic strap on each side that can be used to store tonie characters that works fine for "human" shaped characters but not so much for some wider shapes (bears, lions, etc.) I find storing them in the "basket" portion of the carrier is much easier, and there's plenty of room.Final thoughtsThe carrier looks great and works well. Its a perfect minmalistic container for a tonie box. We reocmmendit.

This is a really fantastic way to keep everything tidy all the little characters.It folds up small, but is sturdy enough to use but realize it has soft sides, etc.

My son loves carrying around his Tonies box and all his characters in this tote. It is durable and light enough for a toddler to handle. The holes in the Tonies box side of the bag allow enough sound to come through the side for easy listening.
