Fishing Rod Repair Kit with Epoxy Glue/Wrapping Thread/Clipper/Masking Tape | professional two parts fishing rod expoy kit with supplies and step-by-step instructions

I had to replace an eye on one of my rods. This kit contained everything I needed, except directions and the eyes, which I purchased seperatley. You have to cut off your original eye, remove the residue with included sandpaper, then use the tape to hold the eye temporarily. Start wrapping the tape from the eye back toward the rod, I also used the tape to hold my tag end out of the way while I wrapped. Finish by tying it off. I used the 2 part epoxy mixed very well in the provided cup (a little goes a long way) applied with the brush in the kit and let it sit overnight. I did apply a second coat the next day after trimming off all the tag ends. Worked great. Note that this has a clear epoxy, my original is black, so color doesn't match my other eyes.

Kit was complete. Better however to use less than more on the sealer / epoxy. Takes some time to dry. Overall a good kit for the money. I made a fixture out of wood so i could spin the rod while wrapping and applying the epoxy. Still good results!!

Nice kit has everything you need to attach your missing fish pole eyes. Some instructions included but not to clear on how to use the kit. Seems like a lot of work. While I did use the thread., I found it much easier to use another epoxy from the hardware store to attach the eyes and simply wrap the thread around the rod for a permanent hold.

Bought it to do a guide on my rod. Looks nice when dried and done. The dry time take a few hours and the rod will need to be rotated constantly to prevent the glue from sagging from gravity.

Broke one of the guides on my 5wt fly rod. Purchased new guides and used this kit to repair the rod. Worked great and have enough material left for any future repairs.

This is a nice little guide repair kit. The scissors are particularly cool, you can snip real close and they are sharp as can be. the brushes are really nice too. they are the perfect size to apply the epoxy. I wish they gave more than 4, but now I know what to get. Not taking away any stars for that, just say'in. The thread is good quality. You'll get enough to do about one medium sized rod.

Overall, I’m satisfied but the kit has some drawbacks. First, the provided rod wrap is thin wire, not nylon thread, and it’s almost impossible to keep the wraps uniform in tension and aligned straight without overlapping. If you release it during the wrapping process, it opens like a spring, necessitating starting over. Also, it is exceptionally hard to get the epoxy and hardening agent out of their bottles, so mixing the two in equal amounts is very hard. There are actually no instructions, so I simply assumed they were to be mixed in equal amounts. It seems to have worked.

I tried this for the first time yesterday. I’ve been building and repairing fishing rods for over 40 years and I’m pleased with how well it worked. I used syringes to measure equal parts and let it sit for about 12 minutes before using it. You definitely need a rod dryer because it takes about 5 hours to set up. I actually did 2 fishing rods and had 4 pieces turning on my dryer. All 4 came out fine. I definitely recommend this and it’s only 1/2 the price of Flex Coat.

Handy little kit to have for minor rod repairs I have not used the epoxy resin yet as other reviews stated that it takes a while to cure so I used another proprietary brand because was in a bit of a hurry to make my rod repair but good value none the less

ich bin sehr enttäuscht, da im Bestell- Artikel soll AB-Kleber Epoxidharz dabei sein, dass war auch der Grund meiner Bestellung sein. Im Anlieferungs Packet dieses ist leider nicht dabei gewesen war!!! Stattdesen lagen im Packet diverse Pinseln!

Epoxy cures well and is very clear. Happy will the results on my rod builds.
