Great stuff, and a much better value than what you get at your typical hardware store. I ordered a reel of 1/8" for use in electronics projects, and find myself using it for other quick fixes wherever instant plastic coating or insulation is needed. Bonds very well and shrinks quickly and evenly. The resulting seal is tough and doesn't come loose. Withstands a lot of heat before burning. I use it for covering wire connections but also found it useful for applying grips to small tools and insulating screwdrivers.

I purchased this heat shrink tubing for an unusual application. The new construction home I recently bought has several sprinkler heads mounted on 3’ high, 3/4” white pvc stand pipes in the landscape beds. The pipes were painted flat black when installed but quickly peeled off from the weather elements leaving an unsightly mess of black splotches of paint and purple pipe cement on the white pvc pipes. I considered painting them black again but I knew it wouldn’t last. Then I had a brainstorm to use heat shrink tubing to cover the pipes. I ordered the 1-1/2” tubing to fit over the 1-1/4” sprinkler heads & fittings. The tubing shrunk down perfectly covering the 3/4” pipes and 1-1/4” fittings resulting in a nice matte black covering. I am very pleased with the results.

As long as you know in advance that the diameter they list is the finish size, not the starting size, then these work well. I used it to seal two cords together and avoid a tangle of different cords. Using a head gun, it shrinks quite well and seals up tight. Easy to cut and trim to whatever size you need.

I wanted to make a security cable for my wife's realtor lock boxes. Cables work well for that, but I had this chain sitting around in my shop and thought, "if it is good for bicycle chains, it should make for a good lockbox security cable." I had to come up with a way to keep the chain from damaging any porch rails around which it would wrap, so I decided to try shrink wrap. I did not need the marine-grade, because I wanted to be able to remove the sleeve and replace it if that became necessary. I found this particular roll at a fair price, so I decided to try it. It measured 1-5/8" flat, but keep in mind that is a FLAT measurement and the diameter measurement is how I ordered, which was 1". I used a heat gun to shrink it, and you can see by the pictures how well it came out. When I shrank the tube, it kept its length while fitting around the chain links, so I was super happy about that. Being concerned with the possibility of one of the chains rusting, I decided to spray WD40 into the tube and let it saturate the chain all the way down. It did not seem to affect the tubing in any way. I can't wait to see how this set up handles adverse weather.

The tubing works as advertised, I've not had any issues. I love that I could get a good sized spool, it'll last me a while! The shrink on it seems good, but it definitely doesn't need a lot of heat, it'll smoke pretty good if you use too much, but it didn't burn on me so I'm happy with that. The thickness is enough that wires don't poke through to easily, but not so thick that it's not flexible.
