Victorinox Traveller Lite Jelly Red

The Traveller Lite was introduced in 2007, meaning that any teething problems have had twelve years to be sorted out. The led light gets grumbled about in some reviews but the current version uses an led which is pure white and though tiny, bright enough to let you find your way about on a dark night. There are also questions about how waterproof it is, I think the answer is 'good enough' for most people, with reports of the electronics still working after passing through a washing machine. Some people mention the display screen can be easily scratched - though it is very slightly recessed and I can find no photos of badly scratched screens on the internet. It's easy to set up and the choice of blades and tools is excellent with no saw, something I rarely use in practice. Build quality is far superior to almost any other multi-tools/knives, though maybe not quite as good as my Victorinox purchased in 1989 in Switzerland, which seems to have been near the pinnacle of their quality control; with perfect machining and polishing of surfaces that cannot normally be seen. Would I recommend it - Yes! With the advice to wait until it's at the bottom of one of it's price cycles on Amazon (Victorinox prices seem to go up and down like a YoYo but Amazon is by far the cheapest place to buy them new).

Excellent product. Useful digital features, very handy and useful. Note that the altimeter needs calibration against a known altitude, but that is quite standard. Highly recommended. I only wish they hadn't excluded the scissors. The white LED is also very useful.

I have bought his as a christmas present for my husband, love the torch etc on it making it a bit different to others out there

This is a real handy knife to have when out walking in the hills.The altimeter is quite accurate (which I like)as are the other functions.

The LCD clock has stopped working I have tried a new battery and it is still not working I'm wanting to return it but I can't see the option to take it to a Post Office can you send me an address of where to post it to please

Noch ein Spitzenprodukt von Victorinox. Ich habe mir vor Jahren den Vorgänger ohne Höhenmessung und jetzt den würdigen Nachfolger gekauft. Der Titel "Offiziersmesser" täuscht - kein Offizier der schweizer Armee bekommt dieses Messer und die Truppe sogar nur ein Messer ohne Zapfenzieher. Aber neben dem Glarner Schabziger ist das Messer das Exportprodukt, auf das wir Schweizer am meisten Stolz sein können und an dem beschenkte Freunde echt Freude und Spaß haben. Das kleinste Instrument ist ein Mini-Schraubendreher, genial eingedreht in den Zapfenzieher. Er dient, um gelockerte Brillenschrauben nachzuziehen oder auch, um die zwei Fächer für die Knopfbatterien aufzumachen. Dann stehen zwei unterschiedlich lange Klingen zur Verfügung, die kleinere ist zum Schnitzen gedacht. Noch zwei weitere Schraubendreher stehen zur Verfügung und eine äußerst präzis schneidende Nagelschere. Der Philipps-Schraubenzieher lässt sich auf Reisen auch ohne weiteres als Ohrengrübler benutzen, der Finish ohne scharfe Kanten lässt dies zu. Zum Öffnen von Konservendosen, John Wayne ist eine in der Schweizer Armee beliebte Sorte von Hackfleisch, früher unter einem anrüchigen anderen Namen, lässt sich ein Dosenöffner ausklappen. Die Elektronik umfasst eine Uhr, einen ganz leicht einstellbaren Wecker, Höhenmesser und Barometer. Genial ist eine kleine Led-Leuchte mit eigener Batterie, die einen nachts zur Getränkerückgabe führt, ohne dass die Partnerin aufwachen muss (Abbildung: das Batteriefach aufgeklappt zum Nachfüllen). Die übrige Elektronik hat eine eigene Batterie. Ebenfalls steht eine Ahle mit Bohrtalent und Nadelöhr zur Verfügung, damit Fleischwunden vor Ort à la Rambo genäht werden können. Der Anhänger für Postpakete ist leider von der Zeit überrollt worden, da man letztere nur noch zukleben darf, bis auch die eidgenössischen Postscanner sich von Schnüren nicht mehr belästigt fühlen. Nicht zu vergessen ist ein integrierter Kugelschreiber, eine Pinzette und ein Zahnstocher und eine lebenslange Garantie auf das Messer, das ohnehin schon einen Finish und eine Präzision sondergleichen hat. Ich habe blöderweise das Messer mal mit fliessendem Wasser gereinigt- die Elektronik war hinüber. Unglaublich: Sie wurde anstandslos und gratis ersetzt. Wenn die Klinge zuklappt, tönt das satt wie bei einem Rolls Royce und die Uhr ist noch leiser als die im Werbetext von Ogilvy für besagten Rolls Royce

Tout est dans le titre, J'ai beaucoup de couteaux Suisses. Celui-ci est compact et léger, mais idéalement conçu pour être toujours dans le fond de ma poche de citadin en quête de voyage ou d'occasions de bricoler. L'horloge, altimètre réveil, baromètre, thermomètre et minuteur est vraiment génial. La minuscule petite lampe d'appoint est idéale, tandis que je suis un inconditionnel des petits ciseaux Victorinox. Il a même un tournevis cruciforme, un tire-bouchon, le crochet de tirage ... vraiment tout l'essentiel pour moi. Sans oublier l'équipement complet inclus dans le manche, dont le fameux stylo bille de dépannage, et le minuscule tournevis à branche de lunettes inséré dans son tire-bouchon. Bien sur, il y a beaucoup plus complet, mais c'est beaucoup plus gros et souvent chargé d'outils rarement indispensables. Un dernier "bon point" pour ce compagnon idéal dans sa catégorie : fait exceptionnel, la tige du crochet est gravée pour en faire une lime à ongle.

The Victorinox Traveller Lite has been the perfect daily companion! This will get you through all your general every day tasks. An every day carry (EDC) knife should be able to do most things you run across in your normal day. Can you do carpentry work, work on an automobile, or bushcraft with this knife? NO. When I know I am going to be doing a specific job or project, I pack the tool that is most useful for that project. That is not what an EDC knife is made fore. An EDC knife is your day to day tool. What can you do with this? Well, lose something under your car seat or couch, no problem with the build in fashlight. Need to jot down a quick note, the built in pen is pretty handy for that! Need to slice and peel your fruit or vegetable, or slice a bagel, the blades are both plenty sharp! Have a few screws that need tightened, the screwdrivers are very handy. Open bottles, open cans, no problem. The digital clock and thermometer are also very nice to have, quick glances to see the time, use a timer or stopwatch, not a problem. Need to clip a stray thread, the scissors are the best in the business! You can also us the toothpick after lunch, use the tweezers to get rid of that pesky splinter, and so much more! Do you need the bigger version with more tools? NO. I have never found myself walking around saying "I wish I had a SAW with me today" or a metal file, or a chisel, or any of that. I have specific tools for those kinds of jobs. This little guy will do everything I need for DAY TO DAY. My only CON with this knife.....I wish it came in black! TIP: When you first get the knife, the flashlight will be very dim. Don't worry, it is not a defect. The batteries it shipped with are weak. Go ahead and purchase a pack of RENATA CR1225 batteries. You will need at least 2 of them to replace the flashlight batteries and 1 for the clock. After you put fresh batteries in, the light is plenty bright enough!
