Lovely little thermometer! Baby girl only 3 days old and maybe over kill but we've only been using it to check temperature of bath water and although thankfully not needed to use it to check her temperature for medical issues (although I have for fun obvs to check it's working) I'm sure it will lend more than a convent, reasuring hand should ever it be needed! I would be made up if someone bought me this as a baby gift.

I originally posted a positive review - the thermometer worked fast and the readings appeared to make sense (even if I was never quite sure how far to hold it from the forehead). Until my baby had his first serious cold with high temperature... Then this device became pointless. I simply could not trust it because the readings were very different, even when taken one after the other. When you really need to know - is it over 38.5 to give Calpol?, has it been 40 or over and you have to think about A&E? - this thermometer will not give you that confidence. I quickly went out and bought a Braun digital thermometer with a normal tip from Boots, which you can use in the armpit (recommended), orally or rectally. The user guide has specific guidelines for what is "high temperature" and what is "fever", depending on where you measure. This sort of precision, and also the repeatable, accurate readings I was getting, is what you need. Forget about the false convenience of a non-touch thermometer, because in an emergency you won't have the correct facts, and you won't have peace of mind.

Very easy to use, fairly accurate from when I've tested it on myself and objects. It's great you don't have to have contact with the person/ object. Very fast taking a reading. It also takes room temp too! Will be very handy when baby arrives.

This is great for baby's that are unhappy after their vaccinations and you're not wanting to disturb them by putting a thermometer under their arm! Fantastic service as well, I got an email to make sure it arrived and another email to check everything was working fine! I never remembered to email them back(baby brain!) But no doubt if I had any issues at all they would have been sorted. Bit more pricey but so worth the money! If the one I have ever breaks or is lost I'll definitely order the same one again :)

Quite a few of my family and friends recently had babies. I wanted to give something useful and memorable. I’m glad i stumbled onto this one! I was told it was thoughtful, unique, and really useful. Plus, the box is so cute! No need to gift-wrap. Just slap a ribbon on and it’s already the highlight of the gift table. Warning: You may get gift requests from other mums in the room and also urges of wanting to keep it for yourself. I think I just might have found a go-to present for these baby showers!

This is a very unreliable thermometer. Bought it for my newborn some months ago and everytime I Need to use, I take a couple of readings and get differences of more than 1.0 degree! This is very frustrating because either your baby has a bit of a fever or is burning up meaning a risk to their health. I have followed all the instructions as per the leaflet and when taking various readings One after the other, I don’t move the thermometer an inch, yet the difference is way to big! Do not purchase!
