Q: how many of these panels would i need to cover 10 ft by 10 ft ?

To cover a 10x10 area you will need approximately 100 pieces. I created an 8x8 backdrop and used 64 pieces.

Q: Ordered 2 boxes that are suppose to have 12 each and both boxes only had 8 how do I get the rest of my order is short

That's odd. They packed mine with 3 squares each in 4 plastic envelopes. Try contacting the seller.
