A useful engineering tool and also a bit of fun for car enthusiasts. Worth spending that little bit more to get a quality item.
Unlike the many many obd2 devices available on amazon, the obdlink LX oozes quality. The packaging is good, the instructions easy to follow and the device itself is well built and looks the part. Setup is a doddle, install the app, plug in the obd2 dongle into the obd port of you car (usually under the steering wheel column behind a little cover). Turn the key 2 steps in the ignition without turning over the engine. Then you simply pair the device by opening your bluetooth settings and scanning for the dongle, then pressing the little button on the front of the dongle itself. Pairing should take no time at all.Once paired, the only thing left to do is open the obdlink app from the app store you previously installed and then select the newly paired device in settings and hey presto! You are done.Being my first and only odb dongle I wanted to test how responsive/laggy this device was between my phone and the actual car dashboard display. Having seen many of the cheaper dongles in use on youtube and the lag between reality and the readout on the phone I was very surprised to see that there was hardly any lag at all. Yes, there is lag but it is so small that it is barely there at all.I also installed torque pro and tried this next, again, setup was a doddle, just opened settings in the app, selected my previously paired device and within 10 or 20 seconds it was actively connected. The other important feature of this particular dongle is that it powers down when not in use and wakes up when the key is in the ignition. I tested this, I didn't want to leave it draining my battery so I left the car for 30 minutes and came back and I was not able to connect to the dongle. How useful is this device? Well, its a bit early to tell, but I can really see that it will be a useful thing to have around. Already I am seeing 2 error entries in my car and the app allows me to go directly to a website with a single click. It is also easy to clear errors with a single press.

Works perfect on a BMW F850 GS Adventure 2020
I seen a video on YouTube about this and thought yes I’ll buy it has my warranty is up on my bike in August this year so I’ll be doing my own service from now on this OBD works perfect also you have to download the moto scan app on a android or Windows I’ve downloaded it onto my android phone you have to pay £21.87 here in the Uk 🇬🇧 to get the full use of it I downloaded and paid for the professional one you purchase in via app. Also you need to download the OBD APP TO Register it. All straight forward connect via Bluetooth, OBD and phone and you’re away. Plug it into your bike ignition on and it all comes up on your phone screen you pick what model you have scroll through to which part of the bike you need to change I used dash to try it and it worked perfectly hope this helps you make your mind up in buying I highly recommend it DEREK from the UK 🇬🇧

Works as it should
Great, still running now. The auto-low power and wake-up is a real 12v battery preserver!

Works well with Torque Pro + K14c in a ZC33s.
I needed to verify ECT, IAT, MAP, TFT, and engine load to monitor engine health, based on a few isolated reports of similar engines with issues. The scanner works well with Torque Pro, an OBD2 Android app that I already have running in an Android head unit. Pairing was good, and its sleep mode actually works, a particularly special feature for my use case because I need to keep the ODBlink permanently connected. As a reference, I tried a Chinese clone before that the app hadn't even read. This device feels solid and works flawlessly. Another case of you-get-what-you-pay-for. The Android head unit pairs with the OBDLink LX well. One more advantage of having a full Android tablet as a head unit, instead of a dedicated automotive sound system. I belong to the baby boomers generation, and I used to look for a sound system for the car instead, but having a full computational unit that allows rear camera, traffic camera, TPMS, and now real-time engine PIDs, besides all your music library ripped from your CDs, right in front of you, is just amazing. Summary: OBDLink LX BT quality is there; time will tell the device's reliability, so I'll keep you posted.
