Classic trident design violin mute - metal but lightweight. (These used to be made in wood, this being the only traditional design mute I could find). Works well - the neighbours like it.

It is not useful to anything. Too small for violin. Don’t buy!

I bought this to reduce sound during pre-morning warm ups and late night practices. I tried the rubber mute but didn't help much and after some research, decided to give the metal mute a try. This definitely makes a difference and can practice without disturbing everyone in neighbouring flats.

Very effective muting. Hides the strings a little, so not the easiest to play when attached, but just takes a little care and getting used to. Very good build quality. Robust.

Does very little

It greatly reduces the volume with little change in sound. Great for practicing in a busy house.
