Has anyone had issues with Sprint or Frontier questioning about this bag during boarding?

My girlfriend got stopped on the way back from Atl to Philly,but not Philly to Atl. That's bcuz she bought stuff while in Atl and overstuffed her bag. She probably coulda gotten away if she woulda military rolled up her clothes. I have the same bag and never got stopped at the gate and was told to put my bag in the device that checks bag sizes. It's basically the same size as ur basic carry on. If u don't over stuff it u should be straight. I'm a big guy and I got 4 days of clothes in it,and a pair of sneakers,and a small toiletrie bag.

Can a standard Nalgene bottle (3.5" OD) fit in the water bottle pocket?

Based on the water bottles I've tried, I don't think it would fit. The fit of a water seems to depend on how stuffed the backpack is.

Will this backpack fit under the seat on Southwest if ot is not packed to full capacity?

I fly SWA all the time and it fits perfectly even if it is fairly full.
