Buy Zero Waste Patterns: 20 Projects to Sew Your Own Wardrobe 1 by Birgitta Helmersson (ISBN: 9781787139244) from desertcart's Book Store. Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Simple and inspiring projects - Really lovely patterns for creating completely zero waste garments, the instructions are clear and leave room for putting your own spin on things and creatively using up every inch of the fabric you've chosen. This feels like a book for sewing more summery/warm weather clothing but I really like this style of clothes as they can be layered easily for cooler weather. Beginner friendly and good for learning some basic pattern making, I really like the selection of projects and would recommend it to a fellow sewing friend. Review: Gorgeous book - Super exciting way to sew! I first herd of it on the British sewing bee. All the patterns are very of the moment silhouettes too which is an added bonus. Some of the sleeves are quite square for my bigger bust and broad shoulders however so I'll be looking at how these can be manipulated or shortened - possibly creating hankies, pockets or appliques with the leftovers? The techniques and detailed sewing instructions are going to come in handy with all my projects as they're so well written and photgraphed. I purchased on kindle so I'll always have it with me to peruse over and dip into.

Great book
Although I don't love the plain fabric choices in the imagery, the concepts, pattern drafts, size charts and book overall are great. I have made the singlet, trousers and tiered skirt. I chose to have mo e less oversized and I used patterned fabric. I love exoring the zerowaste concept with this book bty my side. Glad I bought it.

Lovely patterns that looks simple and chic
Bought this book as a gift for my sister but couldn't resist having a browse before I wrapped it up. Lots of great patterns in here, can't wait to see what my sister makes! Also love that it encourages zero waste. Too often when sewing I find myself with unusable scraps that inevitably just go to waste so this is a great way to counter that.

Gorgeous book, but the clothes are huge
The book has a fantastic concept, it is beautifully presented with very clear diagrams and lovely photos of the clothes being worn by "real" women rather than models. However, as another reviewer has mentioned, most of the designs are quite utilitarian in nature and the garments, from using the whole width of the fabric, tend to be excessively roomy. This oversizing may not be as obvious on those with larger figures, but I think it might not suit women with smaller frames. I really liked a couple of the designs, but the rest were too boxy and shapeless for my taste.

I’m really enjoying this book and it’s easy to follow patterns. There are (actual) plus sizes included and everything is easily customizable, which is great.

I love how this book is organized! The first section provides instructions for basic blocks for tops and bottoms, all with generous ease. The second section provides 20 projects -- truly enough for a capsule wardrobe, including a sleeveless top and shorts for hot days and a quilted jacket for cold ones. A good squint at the projects will reveal other variations. For example, I'll probably never make either of the two jumpsuit patterns, but they gave me ideas for dresses. The patterns are mostly paperless -- just a few templates to trace for neck curves and other tricky bits -- which makes it so even an intermediate beginner like me can see where alterations could happen. There are lots of reassuring straight seams for the beginning sewist. As someone who both cares about the environment and lives in a small space, the zero waste aspect is a plus as well. It also makes for easy-to-see pattern layouts, and means there will be little to no fabric scraps to add to my collection. Recommended for any sewist who is nervous about patterns, enjoys unfussy styles, or is into the lagenlook.

En härlig bok helt i tiden. Sy kläder utan att det blir tygrester. Snygga modeller, plats för fantasi! Den broderade duken som inte används kan bli ett festplagg!
