Just what I needed ! These work great for pencil sketches in a sketchbook, stops the pencil from smudging over time, and leaves no residue! I havenโt had any problems with this spray varnish at all. Leaves a nice Matt finish with no shine, doesnโt smell too bad compared to other brands, dries within minutes, great price for what it is.

Leaves a residue that takes the vibrancy out
I don't know if I am using it wrong but it has made all my paintings dull which is very disappointing. Have not tried water on it so I do not know if it working that way.

Matt v Gloss
Oil paintings seldom have smooth surfaces. Gloss varnish reflect imperfections, matt varnish does not. It also makes them easier to photograph, without light reflections. The second picture has a matt varnish. The second is gloss and the top, right-hand shows the problem. Some matt varnishes do not always perform well. This did, so much so that I have applied a coat over others.

Good stuff
Works great at setting your pencil drawings, just make sure you're absolutely happy with it before giving it a light spray.
