Boss PSU 1U (PSB 230UK)
"All men are created equal, but in the eyes of some, a few a more than equal to others."What do I mean by that? All guitar pedal power supplies are like all other power supplies. They power things. In this case guitar pedals and other things. But some power supplies are designed to be better, or more powerful, or to be used in a certain way. And other power supplies give off noise or interference when used. The interference can be passed through guitar pedals or other musical equipment which in turn makes solving the problem tricky to eliminate. The Boss PSU 1U or PSB 230K or UK kicks out 2 amps of power, is silent and gives out nothing but power. No interference or need to problem solve. Most basic guitar pedals need 9 volts, and 0.3 amps to work. In effect, pardon the pun, this PSU can power 5 or 6 pedals daisy chained together easily. The more power hungry Boss multi effects units may need 9 volts but 1.5 amps. Still not pushing the boundaries. The lesson here is that there are few power units out there you can truly view as equal to your needs. Stagg down a 1.7 amp PSU which I recommend, but I will say that this Boss PSU has more power, more headroom and I fully recommend using it in your pedal board.

How much?!?! Shame this is necessary
Cost a fortune in Batteries so an adapter is necessary. The regular ones made a bit too much noise so I had to go with this thing. It is quieter than a standard adapter but not as quiet as batteries. But it costs so much! I love the amp but this is too expensive.

so I'm really glad that I spent the extra on the genuine article
This is a pukka Roland product, feels high quality and works superbly. You don't want to be messing with a cheap no-brand power supply for an audio interface in a studio, so I'm really glad that I spent the extra on the genuine article.

Identical to the original Roland power unit
The trouble with power units is usually the strain on the cable, particularly when it has to be packed away in a cupboard after every use. That's what happened to the original power unit from Roland. The cable fractured inside the insulation and it wasn't apparent that the unit could be opened in order to effect a repair. Anyway the replacement is identical to the original and works perfectly.

Replacement power supply for Roland RD300NX piano, worked straight ...
Replacement power supply for Roland RD300NX piano, worked straight out of the box. Tip: don't store this with the cables wrapped around the transformer unit, the 9v side cable is a bit of a weak point and will fail where it joins the grommet into the transformer - hence my need for a replacement!
