Would this work on peircings?

Savlon is an antiseptic cream for use on external skin surfaces. I do wear pierced earrings. Pierced ears for many years. I occasionally use Savlon if there is any sign of redness, or a bit sore, sometimes even smearing a small dot on the actual hook of the earring before I insert through the hole in the ear lobe. I always wear sterling silver through the pierced hole. Silver is known to have antibacterial properties. If you are intending to use Savlon for any  new piercing wounds I would seek health professional advice.
The NHS online may have a section about this. In my own experience the professional undertaking the piercing procedure gives routine advice for aftercare which should be followed. With any new wound, or even a permanent healed wound, eg breaking the skin surface, there is a risk of infection. I have no experience of tongue, lips, nose, umbilicus (belly button) piercings. Savlon is a well known brand. If I were you, I would seek advice directly for the Savlon company search online, and seek advice from the NHS,( National Health Service), if you reside in the U.K.
The Savlon I purchase from Amazon is the genuine article. it is also available in  high street chemists in the U.K. at the same price. Any U.K.  chemist with a Pharmacist on site also may be able to advise. Hope this helps.

Which is more effective germolene or Savlon???

Savlon. Used for years as doesn't ever sting like germoline can. Savlon is safe on dogs aswell, worked with dogs 30 years & always used savlon on bottom holes or winkles. Great product

Is this ok for a small (1-2cm at the most) currently non-painful cut on one of my fingers or does the wound need to be bigger?

I have used it for a similar cut with no ill effects. I would imagine a bigger cut would require at least an adhesive padded plaster and possibly advice from a pharmacist or other medic.
