SOLO, 418-2L, 2 Liter One-Hand Pressure Sprayer, Red and White

I only write reviews when products are really good or really bad. In this case the sprayer was very good and everything I had hoped it would be. I have used air pressure sprayers for many decades and this small sprayer hits the mark. It pumps up easily, holds pressure, and the nozzle delivers a very fine spray or a single stream. The fine spray is what I am most impressed about in that it is extremely fine and as good I have have ever gotten out of a air pressure sprayer. It ruggedly built, easy to handle, with a spray tip that can spray upwards, for the underside of leaves if that is what you're after. Nice little unit that is definitely worth the money.

Solo 418-2L 2-Liter One-Hand Pressure Sprayer Pros: - container is tough, thick, hard, nylon-type material. Rap it with your knuckles and it goes "thock". Opening is about 1.5" in diameter for easy filling. - nozzle end easily adjusts up or down. E.g., to spray vertically, point the nozzle up rather than pointing the unit up. - at the nozzle's mist setting, liquid goes about 4' and disperses to a foot in diameter at 3' from the nozzle. The mist is so fine, it almost disappears. - nozzle can be adjusted from that mist setting to a 1/16" diameter stream which can be shot up to 30'. - with the container ½ full (one liter), once air pressure is attained, most of that liter can be sprayed before needing to pump again. It sprays for quite a long time before needing to pump again. - comes with a translucent, and removable, "cup" that attaches to the nozzle assembly; this catches excess liquid when spraying vertically and offers drift protection. - ergonomics are excellent. It has a comfortable main handle, pump handle, nozzle adjustment, trigger, etc. - chemically resistant construction allows use of cleaners, fertilizers, pesticides, weed control, bleaching agents, etc. This was important to me since parts of our previous sprayer of this size dissolved with bleach cleaners. - very lightweight; most of the weight when using, is the liquid you put in the tank. Cons: - with a ½ full tank, about 50 [quick] strokes on the pump handle will attain good pressure. That takes about 20-25 seconds of pumping. With 2 liters, it takes about 30 strokes. - container rocked slightly on it's 4 molded-in feet. Application of a thin stick-on felt pad on the shortest foot fixed that. Other: - This model has a short (3.5") wand. The 419-2L has a 9.5" wand and the 420-2L has a 23" wand, but otherwise are identical to the 418-2L. - As with most sprayers, it can't be used with acid, caustic liquids, potentially injurious chemicals, or flammable liquids such as gasoline. Summary: This is a well engineered hand sprayer at a reasonable cost. Significantly better than the comparably sized units we previously bought at Home Depot and Lowes...

Much easier to keep my plant terrarium properly moist with this thing. You can get the spray to be just like heavy rain. I was worried the 2 liter one would be oversized for my purpose, but it isn't. Here it is next to a regular 16oz spray bottle. It takes a few pumps to pressurize it enough to spray the whole 3x1 foot terrarium. I'll update if it fails. The people who had it explode must have pressurized it WAY too much. You get a feel for it, you can feel the pressure increasing, I just do the minimum amount of pumps I need at the time. It's easy and very quick to pump it up. UPDATE: I've been using it for 3 years now and it's been great, no sign of failure. I use it daily for my terrarium and some orchids. Sometimes we use it to spray off the dog outside if he gets into something, very useful since we live in an apartment and don't have a hose.

I love it the best , very useful flexible tip easy spay from any angle and I recommend must have who has a garden.

I have had two of these made by echo, and 1 made by Stihl. I carry them around in my atv filled with woody plants and vine strength, weeds, and pest formulations. So if I come across poison ivy, brambles, crabgrass or ants I am ready. These small sprayers are invaluable but durability for me is key. Initially both other brands worked well, but became so problematic that I found myself fixing them more than using them. Eventually I bought these from solo and so far they have worked well. They haven’t stopped up or dripped at the nozzle and the shape actually makes them easier not to overfill. I am not sure the role of the plastic cone over the nozzle. Adjusting the spray nozzle is more problematic with it on. I may take one off and see if there are any problems. The bulbous shape also seems to allow more air pressure with fewer pumps.

Love this sprayer! It’s perfect for spraying the under side of the leaves on plants to kill or keep bugs away! It’s easy on the hand as well.

I bought my first one in 2013 and due to neglect (leaving them out here and there), I eventually had to throw it away. But it worked great for many years. Now that I started gardening and especially planting seeds in 2x2 cells and 4-6" pots, I needed a way to mist or wet the cells easily without relying on the spigot outside. It's also great to spray other content if need be to control bugs as well. The size is just large enough I can do the job in one shot but not too heavy. I've had 1-2 gallon sprayers and I end up using both hands and never use the whole thing at once so this 2-liter or 1/2 gallon size is perfect. Guessing it's around 4-5 lbs full weight so just keep that in mind if you don't want anything in that weight range. The nozzle can mist and spray a jet with a twist of the nozzle tip and the clear nozzle cone does keep the misting more precise. No leaking and love the red locking tab if I'm spraying for a few minutes non-stop in misting mode. The pump is also very easy to press up & down. Very smooth operation. The handle is thick! There's nothing cheap about this. The price has gone up since 2013 like almost everything but still worth every penny IMO.

Plus replacement parts are available for all Solo products, unlike the cheap Chinese origin sprayers that need to be discarded if they fail.
