Good value for high-spec LED bulbs
I wanted to replace several light bulbs and the more recent LED types have now more or less taken over the market for this type of item. I can see why too! I hated the older energy-efficient mini-glass tube types and more or less refused to have them in my house, what with their dingy light (admittedly improvements were made over the years) and diabolical colour temperature (or 'green dismal' as I called it) and also my wife in particular could sense a flickering nature to their output. Anyway, thank the powers above that LED bulbs came along and saved us all from gloomy interiors! However, it hasn't been all plain-sailing with the LEDs either. I was shocked at how hot the bases of the new generation of LED bulbs could get. That seems to have improved more recently (although some brands still get much too hot in my opinion). Also, the brightness of most LEDs left something to be desired... add to that the fact that the early ones bathed you in a very cold white light etc. Well, thanks to some of the leading makes (and Philips is obviously one of them) this has changed. Nowadays, normal LED light bulbs have decent warmer colour temperatures, stated Lumen output, and angle of light coverage etc all shown on their packaging usually. Philips seem to have pioneered a lot of the advancements (I may be wrong but that's how it looks to me). However they are always at the very high-end of the cost range. I spotted this multi-pack though, and suddenly I felt they represented decent value. These bulbs are lovely. Bright and GREAT for bathrooms/utility rooms etc. as they emit a good even white light that works well with all the typical bathroom requirements. Also they don't seem to get too hot (when I elude to the hotness of LED bulbs I am not referring to the bulb's light-emitting area, but to the region that is enclosed with the plastic base below the bulb). The colour temperature is slightly cooler than some but, in the right situation I think they are such a nice quality of light. At this price they are a good buy I reckon (and I am a switched-on type of guy!!!!!) - sorry for that sad joke!

Brilliant LED light bulbs
At last, a bulb that provides an excellent level of illumination with very low energy consumption. I initially bought a six pack of these Philips LED 13w bulbs to replace some 20w CFLs for three table lamps in our lounge (18ft x 12ft). What a difference! Instant on, no warm up time and a VERY much brighter light - so much so that the 5 bulb CFL centre ceiling light and two, 2 bulb CFL wall lights have become redundant! The other bulbs were put to immediate use, one in an integral garage and the two others in bulkhead fittings over the external doors. The LED bulbs have made an incredible difference to the old filament bulbs they replaced outside and there is now no more groping around in a dimly lit garage. To say I am impressed with the quality of these bulbs is an understatement and you will not be surprised to know that I have already bought another six, for use in bedroom centre ceiling fittings. Special thanks to the LED Specialist for their excellent pricing and overall standard of service. Despite ordering over the Christmas and New Year period the bulbs arrived, securely packed, within three days. I cannot comment on the longevity of the bulbs but Philips are a reliable manufacturer with a good name. Totally recommended without reservation.

A bit too bright
I bought these as they are great value for money. They came well packaged, and produce a great light output without making any electrical noises like the osram lamps I purchased. The light output is significantly greater compared to the 20-23W CFL type lamps that were replaced, so I'm returning them. I'm not sure if this problem is specific to Philips or because they are LED, but buyer beware! May take a few purchases and returns before you get a lamp that works for you.

Probably the best 100W GLS-equivalent LED available!
I had been looking for a 'good' 100W GLS equivalent LED bulb for a while and had tried other makes, but had not been too impressed. These, for me, are the benchmark. I bought a singleton to try, and immediately ordered a box of six. The level of light output is wonderful; much brighter than previous (other manufacturers') bulbs that claimed to be equivalent to 100W GLS. They make a huge difference to room lighting levels. By my measurements (of operating current) these also use less energy than other manufacturers' claimed equivalent LED bulbs. Perhaps these are slightly more expensive, but for me there are much better value. Now, just need to check out their operating life.

The bulbs are great but the delivery sucks
The bulbs are great, buy them but the delivery sucks, its marked on Amazon as Handed to Resident, it was not, it was left on the front step, no knock on the door or ring of the bell, it was only because I checked the delivery status that I discovered it had been delivered so I went looking for it. As I said, the bulbs are great, the service was great, no problemwith the retailer but the delivery sucks.

Fantastic for the price
We've come a long way in LED lighting - only a few years ago to get "proper" 100W equivalent LED (aka 1500lumens or so) you needed the 40 quid Master LED - which I still have and going strong - it is hard to believe that you can now get 6 at 1/2 the price and similar quality. I pretty much only got Philips LED bulbs - usually Master ones for living areas - and so far I've had none fail. I find Philips don't lie about their brightness and like here this is a proper 100W-like bright bulb with decent "warm white" colour (maybe not quite 2700K but pretty warm) and better light dispersion (not just top 180-degees but more like 250-arc so you don't end up with bright top and dark bottom). Yes they are not dimmable so prepare to spend more on those. But at the price that is not likely for a bit more...

Like having a sun indoor!!
We used to use really cheap Home lightbulbs from Sainsbury’s. However the light is so dim that we can’t even see what we’re eating at night, and on a gloomy day I find it difficult to work because the lack of light makes me a lot less motivated or productive. So I decided to get some really bright light bulb. And my god, just the moment I turned on these lights and see how much brighter the rooms are immediately made me feel so much happier and brighter inside! I was even going to get a sun lamp because of how dim the rooms were, but now with these lightbulbs I don’t think I would need one any more! Just hoping that they will also last long and are energy efficient.
