Tough and silent (until goes off) - the perfect alarm clock
We've now got three of these - a household full of them. They are pretty much perfect. Quiet, and silent when the alarm is set (the second hand stops at 12 if the alarm is set), very easy to set, picks up the radio signal well (we've had trouble with some wall-mounted radio controlled clocks, but these Seikos have no such problem). The alarm starts as a peep peep and then grows more insistent. There's a little light that glows for a few seconds when the button on the top is touched.Black is really smart; the silver version less so.If you have no suitable radio signal, e.g. move abroad, the time can be set manually - though this takes a long time (press and hold a button on the back, to make the minute hand moves round). At least the time can be set, and operate as a normal quartz clock, if you need it to.Finally, it's tough - has withstood been thrown across the room by a sleepy teenager and knocked off the shelf by myself, onto a tiled fireplace many times... the front "glass" (plastic of course) is actually just a tight fit, and can be knocked out and then placed back easily. If the hands get accidentally moved by mistreatment (speaking from experience here) they can easily be corrected.

Easy To Read And Easy To Use Alarm Clock
This is a really easy to read and easy to use alarm clock. When I first unboxed it and inserted the battery, it automatically set itself to two hours later than British Summer Time. Puzzled, I pressed the reset switch on the back of the clock and within minutes it had set itself to correct BST. Subsequently, it has worked perfectly and I'm delighted with this excellent radio controlled alarm clock. I bought it to replace an admittedly dirt cheap Acctim radio controlled alarm clock that turned out to be rather flimsy. My fault. You get what you pay for.

Second time lucky
This arrived OK but whilst setting it up I heard a rattle inside. Sent it back for a replacement which is fine.

Loud tick!
Nice looking clock.. Very good delivery, etc. Only exception is it ticks quite loudly! But it didn't bother the wife though!

a pain to use
This clock has an annoyingly loud tic, and even worse, the alarm is not useable on a 24 hour basis ... if you set the alarm for say 7 A.M. it also goes off at 7 P.M. Also, to switch off the alarm you have to use a switch on the side of the clock, this action is counter intuitive... you want to hit the button on the top of the clock. To be fair the clock is easy to set up, but that is it only good point. You can't see the time at night unless you hit the back light switch and although it was inexpensive the clock look inexpensive too.

Good quality alarm clock
Beautiful, good quality bedside alarm clock. A good size with large numbers you could see from 6' away. The alarm ON/OFF switch is on the right side (as in picture), the light button is on the top. The knob to set alarm time is quite small, and when the time is set, it stops the second hand from turning - but in no way affects time-keeping (which is radio controlled) - just an isolated quirk perhaps?Mother is well pleased and has commented daily (during the first 2 weeks) about its good looks. It is worth commenting here that the seller is very helpful and supportive.

Seiko radio controlled bedside alarm clock
This is a simply designed and well -made plastic bedside alarm clock that rests on a stable base. Came with a C size battery. Has worked perfectly reliably until now, setting itself into radio-controlled accuracy without any bother. The seconds hand movement is pianissimo even in a quiet room, but is still disabled when the alarm is switched on. The dial is clear and well lit when used at night. Very prompt delivery. No clues about its origin, but does seem like a quality product worthy of the Seiko name. Wholeheartedly recommended.
