I was recommended the Lumie Bodyclock Luxe 750D by a work colleague ...
I was recommended the Lumie Bodyclock Luxe 750D by a work colleague and I can agree that the Bodyclock is so worth the investment - its life changing... I love the way I can choose my own sunrise settings and brightness to suit my wake up. Its a very gentle way to wake up especially as you can control the brightness to gradually go from nothing to bright over a 90 minute period. It feels very natural and I am especially looking forward to using this feature in the winter months to brighten up those dark early starts. There are also two colour settings of which I prefer the yellowish colour as it is softer at its highest light intensity. I cannot stress enough how much nicer this is to start your day having woken up like this, (rather than a sudden harsh alarm sound that shocks you out of your deep sleep.) Usually this is where I hit the snooze, and I know I'm not the only one to have several pre-set alarms incase this happens... however with the Lumie, the snooze button hasn't even crossed my mind - I wake up ready for the day. You can choose to set either a standard daily alarm, or weekly so you can leave the weekend mornings a little later for a much deserved lie in. Ive tested the Bluetooth connectivity (for streaming), which was very quick and easy and great to be able to control the music from Spotify on my phone - from the other side of the room! There is also a USB port at the back where you can plug in your phone or iPod too. DAB Radio - great, it has all the channels I needed and the sound is high-quality and completely clear frequencies. I choose to take advantage of this feature and wake up to a radio show, but if you prefer there are over 20 wake-up (and sleep) sounds. You do have to read the manual to work out the settings as the options are plentiful with this model, however they're very easy to understand, and have labelled diagrams as well as the written instructions. Great product! I would happily recommend it.

Its the best choice for DAB radio and light
This is a fantastic clock. The DAB radio and sound quality are up to the standard you'd expect from a unit this size. Not HiFi, but pretty good. There is an alarm per day so you can have a lie in at the weekends and the choices for how the light dims and brightens are really comprehensive. There are two small niggles. You can't adjust the light brightness manually when the radio is playing as that control adjusts the volume when the radio is on. You have to switch off the radio, adjust the light, and then turn the radio back on. The other niggle is that the clock isn't automatically set from the DAB radio signal. You have to set it manually, but it does run for 30 minutes without power so it should survive most power cuts.

Makes waking up in the winter bearable...
I've been using Lumie Bodyclocks since 2002 and there's no better product (in my opinion) for helping you to waken up and get going on dark winter mornings. I suffer from SAD and also use a lightbox, but even if you don't suffer, these will make winter mornings much more pleasant. The sunrise is gentle (although user programmable to your preferred settings) and helps to wake you naturally rather than with a jolt, as with normal alarm clocks. The added feature of a DAB Digital Radio (which, and I love this feature, gradually increases in volume when it's time to waken up) makes this an all round alarm clock that looks great in any setting. The light is LED based and provides both warm and cool lighting options depending on your personal taste and needs. The sunset feature is lovely to drop off to sleep to. I can certainly say that with using this product, I awaken much more refreshed and naturally than I would without it. I can't recommend it highly enough and Lumie offers a 3 year warranty, which you are unlikely to need because the product is so very well built.

Excellent product - really amazing
I wish I had purchased one sooner! I have been thinking about getting a Lumie Bodyclock for a while now. I opted for the DAB version as I prefer to wake up to a radio and I was not disappointed. I received it promptly from Amazon; the product is made to high standards with a glass globe, the buttons and controls feel very nice and offer many functionalities and ease of use. The instructions were straight forward any very easy to follow for a product with so many features. You have the option of switching from blue light to low blue light in the evening to help you to sleep. This looks like a unique feature in these types of products. The are many audio features to choose from with many high-quality sounds with some quirky ones. The bluetooth feature is seamless, it allows you to play your own playlists through the high quality speakers. The DAB radio is fantastic and gives excellent reception for many channels. I have been using the sunrise and sunset features as well, they both offer variable timings to choose from and different light levels. The light in the display can be manually adjusted to completely off or adjusted to a level one likes unlike other products where the display stays on. I have not used the presets yet for the USB but this feature allows to save favourite pieces of music on a USB key and save them to the presets. You can also charge your phone. I would highly recommend Luxe.

Great Light, Awful set-up & user-interface
This is a great alarm clock with good features but the user interface is terrible, among the worst I have come across hence why I have given it a generous 3! I am surprised it passed any beta user tests. I am very technical but it took me a while to work out how to set it up and then use it. Also, when in bed, I want to be able to reach out to the clock occasionally and control functionals like the light, DAB, brightness but its fidgety. One final gripe I have is that the time needs to be reset when switched off. Every other DAB radio (I have 5) sets the time automatically. On the positive side, the sunrise and sunset works well, the light is great, the quality of the radio is good and overall its a quality DAB radio / alarm clock. I have kept mine as I worked out how to use it and as noted, its features are great but I would not buy this as a present or recommend to anyone unless they are technical and patient.

Very good.!
I think this is a fantastic product that has one or two niggles. The actual waking up is brilliant and I do respond well to it. You arenโt going to wake up bouncing off the walls but I genuinely do get up alot easier than the usual bury your head in the duvet. The niggles: 1.) the light seems to have an auto switch off which is annoying. After an hour or two the light switches off, surely a setting would suffice, I can see the point of it sometimes I have drifted off with the lights on but in the winter I have my lamp on in my room when researching so I need it to stay on. 2.) Personally I found the controls ok, but I am an IT graduate who can adapt to any system quite quickly but others may not. 3.) the clock display is too bright for night, you have to switch it off with the sunset program itโs the only way. All in all a very good product just the small issues need to be resolved and then it will be perfect regardless of price.

I really like the way this unit works!
Hi I was a bit unsure of what wake up lamp I wanted. I initially purchased the Philipps Somneo but found something lacking. I wasn't that fond of the design and I didn't think it gave me the flexibility to use the lamp outside of the sunset/sunrise options. I also found the sound quality and radio very poor. I therefore had a look around and took a look at what else was on the market and the Lumie 750D popped out as a decent competitor. I know a lot of people moan about the buttons and interface, but sorry, I love their interface!!! You have to spend a little bit of time reading the instructions and getting to know how the unit works, and then actually it's clear that Lumie have really thought about it and it is a very logic and clever system. If you are in lamp mode then you can change the display and lamp settings and it very cleverly changes from red to more yellow as you increase it. In audio mode, again you have full access to the different audio options and increasing and decreasing the volume. The settings are pretty clear, and I like the fact you can set a weekly alarm schedule which is then always activated unless you specifically switch it off. I think the unit is very bright on full wack - the sunset and sunrise options work really well. It is easy to use as a separate audio unit or lamp, and the sound quality is excellent (much better than somneo). I also love the fact that you can change the sunset options with a lot of flexibility. For example I have been playing with the light going off, but the nature sound still staying on all night at a low volume to block out external noise and lull me to sleep. On that subject, the audio options are great and the nature sounds are not tacky like on a lot of systems - they seem natural and seem long enough that the 'loop' isn't at all obvious! I bought this to leave the phone out of the bedroom so don't use the charging feature so can't comment. Nor have I used the mp3 facility with a memory card, but I can imagine that is a great option to have your own music/sounds to wake up to. The only one downside is that the DAB reception isnt that great in my bedroom and i had to move it to the window. I am going to look to add a wire to the aerial to see if I can reposition it to the other side of my room.

Excellent product - well worth the investment
Have had the basic Lumie waking light for many years and after reading two positive and one negative reviews posted here I hesitantly tried this model. I must say that we are VERY happy with the product. - Build quality is high, the buttons work very well (a lot better than on the basic models where they are flimsy), the device is easy to use and looks good. -Maximum brightness is significantly higher than in the cheaper halogen Lumies and we really like the colours of the sunrise simulation. Also the LED lights do not get hot. - Instead of the unfriendly beep alarm on the basic Lumie, we now get BBC Radio 4 fading in at the alarm time, quite a change in tune. - Lastly it is very useful to set a separate alarm time for each day of the week so that we get our artificial sunrise a bit later on weekends. Highly recommended - yes it is more expensive but like a proper bed a good investment given how often you use it.
