Is this suitable for short distances..5 meters min?

It could, 8 yards is really the minimum.

I have a Crosman 2250 ratcatcher with an aluminium breech and 11mm dovetail rails. Can anyone recommend suitable scope mounts for this combo ?

Any low profile 25mm dovetail rings will do the job. Nikko Stirling and Hawke make good value ones.

Whats the dimater of the eyepiece tube as i have a night vision kit with fits over a 40-44mm tube?

The eyepiece tube is 42.5mm Dia. Over a length of 36mm before it tapers down.

It says in the specs 320mm but with dust caps on mine is 330mm !
