does this turn your hands or gloves black and get all over everything?

Yes. Because it’s so fine there is charcoal dust everywhere. All charcoal will turn your hands black but this stuff is the worst. It gets everywhere! Everywhere around you—on the work surface, all over your arms, in the air. I wish I could get my money back. I would never have bought this if I knew it would be so fine and so messy.

I'm confused. Is this horticultural charcoal or biochar? Cause those are two totally different things?

Good morning, It is a soil amendment very fine texture. I use it for purification. I mix Dr. Earth, biochar,pearlite,organic potting soil for a mix to pot philodendron. It is very fine like soil. First year using it. I hope that helps.
