Principles of Tensor Calculus: Tensor Calculus

Very Informative!
I find this book quite useful, it is a follow up from the book by the same author, Taha Sochi, with the title 'Tensor Calculus Made Simple'. I have been wrestling with Tensor Calculus for many years, on and off studying, and this book is a welcome addition to achieving my end of understanding the tensor structure eventually - it has helped indeed! I am just fascinated by these objects of tensors! Thanks to this author!

Great book
Explained a complex topic elegantly and succinctly. I recommend this book for those interested in quantum mechanics and similar fields

Five Stars
Clearly explains many details not normally discussed. Interesting that the name Einstein or GR is never mentioned!

Tensor math made difficult
I acknowledge that tensor mathematics is known to be difficult. I bought this thinking that it might simplify some concepts. It didn’t. Math majors might be able to follow. It did familiarize me with some terminology so I gave it 2 stars instead of 1.

May not finish the book
I am disappointed in this book and may not finish it. I wanted this book as a review of tensors but find the style too frustrating. In the early chapters, the author refers to items in later chapters. For example, the chapter 2 discussion will refer to material in chapter 4 or 7 etc. As I continue to read through chapter 3 I see items I know are true but without explanations - perhaps explanations will be covered later...

La claridad del texto.
Explica detalles que otros libros ignoran o dan por conocidos. Lo recomiendo para iniciarse en el manejo de los tensores con soltura.,

Well done book
When I wrote two years ago to the author reporting the error in exercise 36 pag 99 of the solutions book (there is a missing term, looking to the equation 392 in the theory book) he answered brutally to read carefully and to don't send more messagges. I found this strange and humanly unpleasant, but it is correct to be honest and objective: I must admit that the book is *really* well done. Almost free from errors (but there is the one I mentioned, and a - instead of a + at the end of equation 319) and characterized by a truly commendable effort to be understood by the reader, to explain things in the simplest way but without "cheating". I really loved this book. I'm very happy it was written. I wholeheartedly recommend it (it is also essential to buy the book with the exercises solved in detail) to anyone interested in this hard subject.

An intermediate level introduction to tensor calculus
This book gives a comprehensive account of the main ideas of tensor calculus. The emphasis is on a manipulative, algebraic approach. There are descriptions of some applications of tensor calculus but they are limited. There are a number of occasions where there are forward references in the text. This might be irritating to some readers who might prefer a more sequential approach with occasional references to results which have previously been mentioned or proved.A large number of exercises are provided. A separate book can be purchased which gives their solutions.

Awesome
Absolutely loved that book! Informally written, crystal clear explanations, very easy to follow. I am going be buying his book on general relativity as well.

Libro avanzado
No es un libro introductorio, el enfoque es por medio de la geometrĂa diferencial.
