Teaching Transferable Skills for a Competitive World
As a high school counselor I’m excited about "Computational Thinking {and Coding} for Every Student" and what it can do for students and their families. Many college grads are finding they cannot land jobs in their degree areas, but this book can teach them skills that can also be used in related careers. It provides lessons for teachers to train students in transferable skills in technology and computer science that are needed across many industries. If you are looking for ideas to revitalize your teaching with relevant material, "Computational Thinking {and Coding} for Every Student" provides easy to follow K-12 lessons that can be implemented in classrooms immediately. Jane and Kiki’s work will save you valuable time and money by their research of best practices.

Good read, but...
I really love the writing style of the authors of this book. I had to purchase it to use when I was working on a computer science endorsement for my teaching license. It has a lot of great information in it and really opens your eyes to what computer science can look like at a variety of age levels. The only thing I didn't like is that it is starting to get out of date, as technology often does. Some of the QR codes didn't always work or went to sites that no longer exist. Overall though it has a lot of good information and changes the way you might think about computer science especially with your students.

A must read for every educator, including parents.
A must read for every educator, including parents. Gives a clear picture of why computational thinking is so important, and provides coding resources to implement. This brings the art of programming to life like the graphic created by code in 2004. Every student in the 21st century needs to have the opportunity to learn to code.

got me through a coding class
well written such that someone who hadn't touched programming in over 35 years was able to pass my university class.

Great content!
Love the resources but some of the links don’t work and it can be frustrating - but so much good content - still worth it.
