Where are these knives made

One-piece stainless knife for dishwasher safe, was Exclusively Designed in USA, and Professionally Made in China.

Is there anything special about this knife set compared with other knife set?

I bought a different knife set for my mother in-laws home and it was so cheap compared to this knife set. The knives are sturdy, sharp and there is a knife sharpener right on the holder. I would highly recommend this set to the average home owner...ie not a professional cook set but it does a a great job. I chop a lot of vegs.

For longtime users how do they hold up?

Have had them for seven months now and they are holding up fine.

This depends on the grade of stainless steel. Marine grade stainless which is pretty common, will rust over time especially if not properly maintained. However if you maintain 316 marine grade, it will most likely not rust and last a lifetime. There are higher grades used in aerospace also known as aerospace grade. Stainless steel is an alloy, the higher the grade, the more pure it is and less carbon it contains. More carbon=more rust. Short answer is it depends on what metal they are using. Hope this helps
