Can I use this to make a mug or Clay cup? Also would it make a decent size mug or is it too small

I'm still experimenting - lots of fun! - but have only made small pieces for jewellery pendants, etc. I would say it's too small for a mug. It takes about 20 min to fuse the pieces I've been doing, but I've only used glass not clay. Hope this helps!

How quickly does the kiln cool down?

It cools down quite fast - depending on the temperature of the room where you have it. About 15 minutes or so.

Is it normal for the microwave kiln to produce hair line cracks after 8 uses or is it faulty?

Mine produced a crack in the grey liner, which is what gets hot, but it still works fine.
