The Deluxe is well worth having!!!
I hear what Fred says about the re-master not being as good as the 1994 original, when this album was recorded it was raw, meant to be played loud so you enjoyed it as it was recorded. So I feel the original still has it's place in the collection on top of all others, the re-master does a good job though on discs 2 and 3 with the demo's and B sides, you can listen to the song construction in it's element.Placing Whatever on this was a surprize to me, Liam hated the track although I can't think why, played loud you can't get a better anthem maybe it was the fact that Rutles music creator Neil Innes sued Noel over the track using a riff from one of his Archeology tracks. So officially it's a Gallagher/Innes track after winning his court case against Noel which beggars belief after Innes copied so many Beatles riffs and effects without court action taken against himself. It was fantastic to hear the Whatever orchestration track which sounds excellent on it's own and gives you a challenge in singing the lyrics to it especially if you sound like a buffoon at the best of times!!!!The live tracks I feel help with the new re-masters clearing some of the rhythm mayhem that Oasis provided at their concerts, again originals have their place so nothing to lose here. The Demo's have been a very welcome addition as these sound much better, the clarity improved so much it makes them playable as loud as you like without the back noise. All in all, I love the set it is well worth the small amount of cash for the extra's offered. Regarding the original tracks I'm like Fred, I'll be playing the original master which can't be improved, don't put you off buying this re-master though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the 2014 20th Anniversary 3CD deluxe edition
We are in 2024 and the 30th anniversary 2CD edition is coming out in August. I wanted to get hold of a new copy of the previous 20th anniversary 3CD version before they are even harder to find. The item arrived in impeccable condition. If you are a collector or big fan of the band you need to have this version. It contains all the remastered album tracks (CD 1) plus b-sides (CD 2) and a selection of live tracks, demos and outtakes (CD 3).

3CD Deluxe Box remastered
It's a great collectable edition for Oasis fans. It has beautiful hardback packaging with numerous "behind the scene" informations, pictures I've never seen before, comments about songs, recording album, photocopy of signs and of course, 3 cds. Proper album remastered from original recording. I was acutally little worried when I've read some nasty things about quality of remastered songs on the Vinyl, but here I find them as good sounding as the "old ones", some songs sound even better than before- Slide Away, Married with children or Supersonic. Another cd is filled with famous B-sides, demos and the third one with rarities for every hardcore fan out there. And all this for 10 GBP? Take it till you can!

Classic....
I don't think there are many who would disagree with 'Definitely Maybe' being called a classic album, but with regards to the new version, i would have to agree with Liam when he asked "how can you remaster something that's already been mastered?" To my ears it doesn't sound any better. I'm not sure what i was expecting, as it's a loud album and wasn't very subtle in the first place. As for the other two cd's, you get the b-sides, which most of us will already have, and then a disc of demo's and live tracks. Anyone expecting a treasure trove of unheard Oasis gems will be disappointed, as there is only one song that i hadn't heard before, and that's 'Strange Thing', which is actually not very good. It would seem that although Noel was writing classics in his sleep, everything he had he released at the time. So whilst i love 'Definitely Maybe' and always will, i can't help feel that the 2014 edition is somewhat scraping the barrel.
