Seems more reliable than PTFE tape for Plumbing joints
Wrap it in the direction of thread. I back it up in a criss cross shape for more effect.

Used to Fix Slow Leak from Tap Spindle
I had a slow leak coming from the spindle of the tap on a heated towel rail. I did the normal internet search on how to fix or replace and saw several solutions from hemp and plumber's mait, PTFE tape, and this which was recommended by several plumbers. It also seals threads on gas and water fittings, so I thought I would give it a try. I started by wrapping about six turns but after some initial success, there was still a slow seeping leak. I removed it and added an extra four turns and several weeks later there is still no leak. So, for me, a success story and saved me the grief of a drain down and tap change, plus plenty left for future jobs. The only advice I can give is to watch some youtube videos on how to use and the method is important and makes life very simple.

Does the job where traditional PTFE did not!
Superb jointing tape, I can wholeheartedly recommend. It worked for me where others failed. The photo I’ve included is of an existing lockshield valve and a new drain-off piece and extending union that I used to connect to a new radiator. The union was needed to avoid messy pipework as the new radiator was slightly smaller than the old one.The problem I had was with the drain-off screwing into the union as the union is a shiny chrome surface that I couldn’t get a good grip on without damaging it. So I just had to twist the union into the radiator and then the drain-off piece into the union, using a spanner on the drain-off and relying on that to make the seal between drain-off and union and between union and the radiator inlet.Standard PTFE and compound did not work (I still had leaks) but this Loctite product worked perfectly! You can actually use too much. It’s different from normal PTFE as it frays into threads when tightened and can bunch up in the joint. So do follow the instructions and I’d suggest using the lower end of the recommended number of turns.

Forget PTFE tape just get this
After trying to seal a threaded connection with PTFE tape and failing miserably I came across this stuff.Drips stopped in seconds. Just follow the instructions and make sure the cord overlaps and crosses eachother.

Better than ptfe tape on threads
Built in cutter makes one handed use easy.

Easy fix for a weeping radiator valve.
After balancing our central heating radiators, one of the lockshield valves was weeping slowly. To cure the problem, I opened-up the valve to expose about 5mm of thread, wrapped some of this cord around and retightened (don’t forget to count the number of turns when opening the valve, in order to close it back to the same position). That was four weeks ago and I haven’t seen a drip since. This cord is easier to use than plumbers’ tape for something small like a radiator valve and seems to be very effective.

Works well!
Have to agree with other reviewers; you don't think it's going to work, but it does! I replaced a radiator and used PTFE on the tails. Both seeped and using more PTFE still didn't stop it. Used this stuff as per the instructions, with a perfect result! Also, winding the tails in, you know how the threads are quite sloppy? Well, not once you've put the necessary number of turns of 55 on; the tails wind in very solidly and there's no overtightening problem. Great buy! Only negatives were - I would've bought the smaller pack if I'd seen it! And it was delivered in a huge plastic-type bag, providing little protection, and the container casing was broken. A jiffy bag would've been much better...

Plumbers thread
An easy to use ptfe thread which I prefer to use over ptfe tape. I've never had a leak after using it.
