📱 Brief introduction Picked this up as a temporary SIM for a spare phone and also to use while travelling around a bit in areas where my usual network likes to completely give up the moment you leave civilisation. Needed something simple with enough data for maps, music and the occasional doom-scroll while waiting around. ⚙️ First impressions Setup was straightforward enough. Popped the SIM in, followed the activation steps and it was working without too much faff. Signal was decent indoors and around town, although like most UK networks it still seems personally offended by certain countryside locations and supermarket car parks. 📅 After using it for a while Over the last few weeks it’s actually been fairly reliable for everyday use. Calls were clear, texts worked fine and the 7GB data allowance was enough for general browsing, Spotify and sat nav use without constantly checking usage every five minutes. Speeds were perfectly alright for normal stuff too. Not lightning fast, but fast enough that I wasn’t stood staring angrily at loading circles. ✅ Things I’ve liked • Easy to set up and activate • Reliable enough for everyday use • Calls and texts worked without issues • Data allowance decent for moderate use • Useful as a backup or travel SIM 🤏 One minor annoyance The Vodafone app took a little while to update my usage properly at first, so for the first day or two I had absolutely no idea how much data I’d used. Slightly unsettling in the modern era. 👀 Who this would suit Good for people wanting a simple PAYG SIM without contracts or complications. Handy for spare phones, travel, temporary use or anyone who just wants calls, texts and enough data to survive modern life without selling their soul to a two-year contract.

This SIM has a use by date not made clear in the web details. On insertion it showed no credits and the bundle was of no value. This may seem trivial, but it was for the use of a vulnerable person, and it was a source of unnecessary distress and anxiety for that person.

Firstly I can't comment on the network as I bought this for the sim adapters to fit a micro sim to a standard (old style) sim and it worked fine though a bit tricky to prize out 😉

DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM IF YOU ARE VISITING THE U.K. Vodaphone is awful. After installing this SIM card in my mobile, I spent twenty pounds for a "top-up" to use while in the U.K. and was unable to use any of it. Either the service was not available, or the top-up credit expired before I could use it. A total waste of money! The U.K. mobile phone service is very different from the U.S. system and Vodaphone does nothing to help you understand and use the system. They just send you mile-long text messages that are meaningless. If you need mobile phone service while in the U.K., go to a local provider and ask for advice.
