A diy job if researched properly and you have basic watch repair tools.
Watch battery replacement. An easy battery swap on a Bering watch. The proceedure is easily researched online and a basic tool kit enabled me to carry out the job at home. The back was a snap off type which was easily removed and refitted after changing the battery. Caution though I have come across some watch backs that have prove difficult to press fit.

Genuine battery good price
Battery arrived earlier than expected and appears to be genuine Renata brand. Voltage checked to be 1.6 so is fully charged and the date code is for 2026 so it’s reasonably fresh. Watch is now working ok so hopefully this will last a couple of years or more although they are tiny batteries compared with some others.

Silver oxide 379 battery
I was sick of paying £8.50 for batteries to be fitted and not lasting a year! Note silver oxide are meant to be better batteries than the cheaper alkaline ones, also that there are a numerous ways of numbering the same batteries which are all the same. Do your pocket a favour and DIY, I would recommend a good light, watch back remover and plastic tweezers and your laughing all the way to the bank. How do those on the high street justify the price they charge? Update: 29.05.14 Watch is not working. Assume it's the battery is now dead, so it's lasted 9 to 9 and a half months. I would have hoped for a year however for less than a pound it's still good value for the price. As previously stated I have had batteries fitted which have also not lasted past the year so all in all it's not entirely unexpected/unusual.
