At first I was disappointed by the fact that early in the book some of the illustrations are colored pencil drawings, but that was just an initial impression. Reading the book I was impressed by the helpfulness and useful tips it contained. Its not perfect, and its certainly not a thick bible answering all your questions about carpentry, but it was a great help nonetheless. I liked the tone and level of the detail - perfect for a mature amateur. Review: FINISH CARPENTRY - I've bought quite a few books by Taunton and everyone is very informative. everytime I look to buy a woodworking book now I always seek out the Taunton books first and using desertcarts book previews makes choosing even easier. most of my books have been purchased from book closeouts and not always new books but you wouldn't know the difference. First class service. I wouldn't purchase my stuff from anywhere else other than using desertcart.
