Purchased this pan/tilt camera after returning a similar ring pan/tilt camera. Camera is easy to use, images are clear and the pet/bark detection is especially useful as our primary use was to monitor our new dog. Operates as you would expect - excellently in normal lights low light functions admirably however it’s worth noting that there is no ir illumination. Human and pet detection - this was stated as in beta when we purchased however seems to work excellently, we have human detection off and pet detection on and get no false positives. Bark detection works like a treat. iPhone/Android app work well there is a little bit of lag on the pan / tilt over cellular but from WiFi it’s almost instant (couldn’t say that with the blink camera!!). No optical zoom but for the price who’s complaining!!!

I have many Tapo plugs in my home to automatically turn on and off various lights and devices and the Tapo app is easy to use and very user friendly.. I purchased this 2K camera to replace my Tapo C70 1080p camera which I have used for some time as an indoor camera on my bedroom window shelf overlooking our street to monitor our cars and the camera has and still does work fine and as there is a street light illuminating our cars, you can set the camera to stay in day mode without any sensor lights coming on at dusk and reflecting on the bedroom window glass. Anyway to get back to this new 2K camera, it is WAY superior in image quality with the higher spec lens and has various settings you can set in the Tapo app. View back is simple (my clips are all saved to SD card so no need for any subscription fees)..Some people comment on bandwidth issues with it losing connections.. In my own experience this happened a few times in the first week and I did consider returning it however I established my Sky Ultrafast router was set to automatic and also used a WiFi android app on Play Store to ascertain that my next door neighbours had many connections on a number of channels, so I changed my rouetr setting to a stable channel(11) in my case and have had NO drop outs or disconnections since. I am extremely pleased with the camera quality improvement including the AI fact you can set to detect motion, person, vehicle and animals and on looking at saved footage you get clip icons of what has been captured I.e. person icon, vehicle icon etc making it so easy when scrolling through saved footage if you only want to see person movement in early hours as icon will show you.. Very pleased Tapo customer and now looking at getting their latest outdoor C325WB colourpro camera to add to my coverage...

I quite like Tapo gear and have used their power plugs (P100 & PP110) extensively as well as the C100 cameras which are small and neat. I mainly use the C100 cameras for pet detection in my home and needed a replacement with a bit more resolution, detail, night time quality and tracking (so I thought-see later!) to monitor my landing area. So, I noticed the C220 at a seemingly good price so bought 2 of them and I must say they seem to work exceptionally well and are a huge improvement over the C100, which has been out a few years, technology marches on etc. There is enough detail in the images that I have been able to place this C220 in a different location so it now covers half of the stairs, all of the landing and 3 of 4 bedroom doors etc. I initially set the camera for pet detection only with tracking which works exceptionally well BUT if the camera tracks a cat along the landing and into a bedroom and this cat then curls up, out of view, and stays there for 2 hours or more (not unusual) then the camera stays in that extreme left or right position, where it last tracked the animal, which could be 80° or 90° from its "home" position thereby totally missing any other activity on the main landing! I have had to turn tracking off of course. What the software needs is another variable something along the lines of "After X minutes of inactivity return to home position" which would need an ON/OFF setting plus a minutes input if turned ON! To be fair, if you installed one of these in the corner of a reasonably sized room then the tracking would probably cover most eventualities but in my case, a narrow-ish elongated rectangular area with several exits then it won't perform. So, good quality and value but does not quite fit my requirements so loses a star!

The number 1 reason that I chose this over other alternatives, is the close up night vision uses invisible infrared, meaning their are no red lights coming from this camera, completely dark.

Blimey, things have certainly advanced over the years! Connecting an remote network camera used to be the domain of real coding wizards with having to open router ports etc to allow the remote access to function - but not any more with the Tapo Pan and Tilt Wifi camera. Installation is really simple and easy - install the Tapo app onto your phone, set up an account and select your camera model. Plug the camera into the supplied power adapter and select it from the app (temporarily using the camera's broadcast Wifi network). Installation done! The camera can be accessed from the app, remotely moved 360 degrees horizontally and moved up and down within a limited range (114 degrees), the image quality is excellent - I'm a photographer and have used all sorts of cameras over the years, but the Tado 2K QHD produces some really nice footage - you can certainly read car number plates and clearly see faces with no issue at all. Zooming on the 220 model is digital, but still very good quality and far better than expected. The night vision is ok but I set the infrared emitters to be off in the app, as they reflect really badly from the internal glass window behind which I've positioned my camera. The night video is still fine but at a slower frame rate than the stock 15FPS during the day. (this FPS can be increased with the app - but remember that higher FPS will result in your home broadband slowing down as the camera uploads the footage at a higher framerate/larger file size every time something triggers it to record) Really good camera, the price is amazing and the connectivity is spot on. Absolutely worth every penny and wholeheartedly recommend this product.

I've ended up buying multiple of these cameras for my workplace, the app is so easy to use and it's totally free if you insert an ad card as storage, the picture is a 7/10 and sound quality 6/10 but going off most cctv qualities these little cameras take the win I even purchased an outdoor version for my home, I'll never use another security system again ! No need for any bulky recording boxes or monitors I've been in holiday in the USA and I can keep an eye on my workplace within seconds, no matter where you are they are ready to protect The only downfall I'd say is the system requires constant Internet signal to function, not a massive issue now a days but something to bear in mind, you can purchase hot-spot boxes for sim only packages that give the cameras Internet connectivity if you don't have hard wired WiFi at the cameras location The app also allows you to make calls through the camera itself, download and record super effortlessly, you can set up alarms for motion detection, motion tracking, there's so many features its unbelievable well worth the money IMO

To-Link/ TAPO are imo the best Quality cameras you can buy. I have 3 C-225’s & im buying 2 more. They are extremely cheap €50/pound most of the time. You get 30 frames a second, With 720p & 2K picture quality, Well beyond 1080p HD, it’s true HD Not a gimmick word for you to buy it the quality is that amazing. You can read a number plate on a moving car, you can turn the mic up the sensitivity of the pet car person detection , It Also will hear crying glass breaking barking etc & let you know , you can turn all these off. I have mine all indoors & some pointing out windows, the NV is really good you can set it to far or near it has no red light but will blur on a window the night vision, if there is light outside a street light you won’t need the night vision I leave mine on day at 2K 30Frames per second recording You will need a Class 10 Micro SD card , Imo go a sandisc extreme pro , As think about it your recording 2K & 30Fps & Sound none stop onto the card & it will loop when it’s full . A 128Gb with these settings will record for a week or more, But if you record in less I.e 25 or 20Fps you will get weeks & way longer at 720p & it is true HD even at 720p not like others I’ve had The only Con I have is I wish the lead was longer . It’s 1.5 meters so 99% of the time more than enough I set it up in 10-15 mins so easy to set up , And a day or 2 of playing with the App it’s so user friendly & the staff are amazing they get back to you in hours & check in days later to make sure your ok & ask do you need more help There Customers Service Is that good I’m buying only TAPO smart items, the quality of Tapo at the price with the features is a no brainer. I love this company & there quality customer support who truly care & make sure everything is sorted. It has never dropped connection I’ve a few going & getting more. I 100% recommend & I’ve had a few doorbells & apps but there clunky. Tapo is amazing a game changer in my opinion so if your thinking of getting one get it you will be happy.

this one is teaming up with another tapo model and works good, again easy to set up wifi only but in return has more noise detection modes.
