It actually does a fantastic job - 7 month use!
I've yet to see the cleaning power as i'm not testing it and comparing before and after in my diesel car but the improved starting capacity has been noticed as I used about 30ml whilst on about 35 ltrs of diesel in a 50ltr tank. I will check my egr in a week or two to see how much it's helped keep that clean as I disconnected my egr to partially clean it whilst in place just before using this product. For the price you get more than one use worth, you get quite a few so this is a product to last over a year depending so for maintaining the fuel and helping the system it's well worth the money. I'm already seeing an improvement to my average MPG which while pottering about town doing short trips is very beneficial. EDIT: After 7 months of use doing a lot of short journeys I can say without a doubt this is a perfect product for keeping a diesel in optimal health as my system runs better, it's cleaner and i'm never having issues with starting, my average mpg has risen to 31mpg which is a huge improvement over the 22mpg I was seeing before I started using it, and if i go on a longer journey it continues to rise until im back to my working day routine doing short trips, and if i take my car out on the NSL roads i'm seeing upwards of 36mpg - did i mention that cold starts aren't an issue anymore? The engine runs so much better with this product in it with the correct amount ie 1:1000 ratio so 1 ltr=1ml, for my 53 ltr tank i need two squirts of this bad boy as they are about 25ml each. I swear by this product as i've had concerns about my dpf and egr getting clogged and being at risk due to my driving habits and after having my egr out twice over the last 7 months to inspect it i can confirm this product is actively cleaning the system, it's not making the egr spotless but the buildup of carbon has been drastically reduced and the EGR is less like a carbon-geode cracked open, even my egr valve solenoid is relatively clean. I'll be forever buying this and adding 70ml to every tank before i top up with new fuel, it's a incredibly affordable product that works like a charm! Please do wear gloves when handling the bottle as while it's not the worst smell in the world you don't want it getting on your hands and then on the interior of your car where you will smell it for weeks.

Amazing product.
Was reccomended to try this by a mechanic, after I had a service done. I've always used Redex once a month, to keep fuel system clean, and always achieved 60-65mpg. Using Archoil in every tank now for the past month, and I'm achieving amazing results on my daily urban commute. Engine responds better and the mpg is unheard of before, for a 2ltr Passat diesel estate with 119,000 miles on the clock.

I think it works
Got my Skoda 2.0 TDI with 12k miles about 8 years ago. I've added a (generous) dose of this virtually every time I fill the tank. With 112k miles on the clock my car is still running well. Engine sounds smooth and quiet for a diesel. I don't know how much, if any mpg it's adding, or if it's actually doing any good. All I can say is that my car starts without any problem on original glow plugs, I get around 50mpg average (70+ on a long, steady run), and no EGR/DPF problems so far. Also, it feels like I'm still getting all of the claimed 150 bhp. It appears I'm on my 5th bottle of this additive, so I've spent a bit over £100. It seems to be money well spent.

was skeptical at first, but now converted
bought last october 2025,.been using this additive now for 5 months, i left this review so it could be pretty accurate, skoda rapid spaceback 2016, i add the recommended 50mil to 50 litres at every refuel, my fuel economy has gone from average 52mpg to 60mpg my last regen light was 5 months ago when i first purchased this item, now the car regens as driving and the stop start system has improved, never can really understand how it works so times it does sometime it does not but i normally drive with it turned off anyway as it can be annoying especially on roads with many traffic lights over a shortish period, that constant stop start when only moving minimal distance cant really save that much, i used to have a slight shudder/hesitation in low revs some times for a few secs which i thought was possibly dirty injectors, since using this product that problem really has gone away and the vechicle power has definitely improved, it is done 188500 miles and is still a very good car to drive . i will now put this on 6 month subscription as i still have some left from the original purchase and i am very happy with product and i would advise anybody with a diesel engine to use this stuff

Improved DPF Regeneration and Good Value for Money
The short version: Archoil AR6900 has noticeably improved the DPF regeneration process on our high-mileage Nissan Qashqai 1.5 dCi. The longer version: After more than 40 years as a car enthusiast, I’ve tried plenty of so-called miracle additives — many of which turned out to be little more than snake oil for tired diesels. So I approached this one with a fair degree of scepticism. We bought a used Nissan Qashqai 1.5 dCi with over 155,000 miles on it. It had been meticulously maintained, but we knew that using it mainly for short journeys (under 10 miles) would likely lead to soot build-up in the DPF. I monitor the regeneration process using an app, and the miles between regens were quite low. Although the car was completing regenerations (no failed attempts), temperatures rarely exceeded 600°C and soot levels would only drop to around 3–4g — never fully clearing. We started adding AR6900 at roughly 50–60ml per 50 litres of good-quality diesel. I’d also take it for a proper drive once a fortnight to ensure the regeneration process was triggered whilst monitoring it. After the fifth treatment, I noticed a clear change: significantly more miles between regens, regen temperatures increasing to around 650–670°C, and — for the first time — soot levels dropping to 0g. That had simply never happened before. I don’t monitor MPG closely, so I can’t comment on fuel economy, but in terms of DPF performance there has been a definite improvement. From a cost perspective, it also makes sense. Even allowing for the additive, it still works out cheaper than regularly filling up with premium diesel that claims to contain similar detergents and cleaning agents. For me, it’s a more cost-effective way of achieving comparable — if not better — results. I’ve since started using it in a 23-year-old diesel as well and have already noticed smoother running after just a couple of partial fill-ups.

Well packaged and delivered earlier than advised.
Excellent, car pulls a lot better and idles more smoothly after using this treatment. Very well packaged and delivered earlier than advised.

Best one I’ve used
I ran redex additive for years on my Audi A2 tdi and found no difference, since being recommended this stuff I will never use any other product , engines quieter and car runs do much smoother , only downside is it stinks 😷 this product seems to spread by word of mouth as i have since got other motorists now using it

AR6900-D Max: No noticeable difference.
So, I tried AR6900-D Max in a BMW 535d GT used on a regular 1353mile (2177km) trip through UK, France and Spain over 3days. Three tanks of diesel, 70ml added at first fill (70litre tank), and 50ml at next fill ups (50litres). TLDR: Didn't notice or measure any difference in fuel consumption or performance. This car usually returns between 37mpg to 39mpg doing motorway speed limits (70mph, 130km/h and 120km/h in each respective country). I was hoping to crack 40mpg which my old 530d GT could do (same size engine but with one turbo rather than two). Well, after 1353miles I was disappointed to see the trip computer (after reset at start of journey) showing 38mpg. This trip is with the same tyres and pressures, same filling stations, but at different time of year. It seems air temperature and headwinds make a bigger difference to mpg than this additive. To note, the engine is well serviced (oil changed every year) with BMW LL04 spec oil, now at 110000miles. Manifold/AGR (AGR = EGR in German) replaced several years ago due to soot build up jamming the swirl flaps, so intake should be relatively clean. DPF is intact with zero soot on exhaust tips (just light grey ash deposits). And the only running issue ever noticed was related to faulty glow plugs/controller making initial cold/winter starting a little lumpy/rough for a few seconds before settling at idle (now rectified). So it could be that as this engine is running perfectly fine, that the additive makes no difference compared to a car that may have underlying faults or running issues. I'll use it again on the return leg to finish off the bottles, just to confirm and edit if I notice changes. As a footnote this additive improves cetane value, which should help combustion. However if fuel quality is already optimal and engine condition is good then obviously it's not to going to make so much difference. It also smells exactly like the Eolys (176/ PATs/ powerflex) fluid that automatically adds fluid to the fuel on some 1.5/1.6 peugeot/citroen engines (and older Ford and volvo's with the same DV6/DV5 engine). So it's possible it contains similar ingredients and probably no use to you if you have a car with a functioning Eoyls system. Dosing is simple enough, but store it upright in an air tight ziplock bag, as if you know what Eoyls is like to smell/handle, this stuff is just as bad... nasty! 3 stars based on the fact it does contain ingredients that should help with combustion efficiency, but I couldn't validate any claims in real world use. Even at its discounted price of £11.96 for 500ml it equates to nearly 0.24p per litre of diesel or £1.67 per 70litre tank. And with no difference in fuel consumption, it actually increases the vehicle running costs. Edit: (16Dec2024) After a return leg of the same 1135mile journey, fuel consumption was actually slightly worse. But I've tried a few doses in a Seat Altea with the 130ps 2.0TDi PD (BKD) engine, which is used for local 20-30min commutes on mixed 30mph and 60mph roads and that appeared to be about 1mpg better. So again not really worth using.
