... product arrived in a timely manner and I was pleased to note just how well it was packaged
This product arrived in a timely manner and I was pleased to note just how well it was packaged; it comes complete with a thin lanyard, which i'll replace with paracord, a black belt case with loop, I'd change it to a tougher case if I were to use it on my belt...Saying that, the monocular is well constructed, appears tough and looks as though it might take a little "field punishment" it's design is almost tactical in that the large end lens is housed within a tough rubberised type 3/4" bezel. The product states "day and night" use...I have yet to test it at night and I doubt but would be pleasently surprised to learn that it might yet serve well in a night time capacity. I think the add on Amazon states that it is "zoom" capable. .. someone might be using a liberal definition of the word, but it's certainly not a zoom lens and I didn't expect it to be for the money paid. There are two focus bezels to get used to just as you'd find on a decent pair of binoculars...perhaps that's were someones definition of the term "zoom" comes in..? It's a well constructed product and I reckon it is value for money and if it is indeed British made then I'm even happier to support that in my purchase. If I have one constructive criticism that wouldn't take much for the designers to attend to, it is that the eye piece lens area, just like a decent pair of binoculars would benefit from a retractable/fold over soft rubber cover to place on the eye to cut out surrounding light inversion during use. Toughen up the lanyard with paracord. Offer it with a tougher denier case with MOLLE and loop attachment Place a retractable cover on the eye lens to cut out light inversion during viewing, and aligned with that well constructed bezel you've almost got yourself a tactical option for this piece of kit. Dust covers on both lenses would be a good option too. My constructive critique is not worth losing a star over and is offered more as possible food for thought. I'm happy with this unit and it looks like it will serve for many years. This review is offered without prejudice to any other and i hope it helps the reader to make an informed purchase decision.

Good value and good quality
I bought it to take on holiday to Vietnam. Good size to carry in a small back pack and easy to use. The lens provided a clear image up to maximum magnification. It took me a while to get used to using it but it was fine once I did. The only downside was the flimsy wrist strap which kept falling off and I give up on as I didn’t really need it

Excellent little monocular
Bought slightly by accident, but no regrets! A monocular can be very useful when you don't want to cart a pair of binos around, and this does an excellent job. This very robust monocular feels very solid in my hands and comes in a nice padded pouch which you can clip to a bag/belt if needed. Easy to use, heavy enough to be stable in the hand with diopter-style eyepiece focus and main focus midway along the length. My 11 year old nephew figured it out in 5 minutes, so very user-friendly. Optically, very clear, crisp images in daylight with a tiny amount of blue fringing at the extreme edge of the view in bright light. This does not detract from the enjoyment of whatever you are looking at in the centre view.

A bit overrated
I used this monocular for a few weeks before returning it. It is a robust monocular, with a rubber casing which smells very 'rubbery'. The optics are ok for the money but they are not great either - you are definitely not getting a giant-killer bargain with this monocular. I am guessing but there are very similar-looking (read: identical other than printing) unbranded monoculars on Amazon at half the price and I would guess these are essentially the same product. I got a freebie binocular from English Heritage for joining and similar quality to that - which is almost 'toy' quality. It's not terrible though, and it is ok given the price. After returning, I bought a different monocular for twice the money by Gosky, and the optics on that are in a different league to this one - more than twice as good. One of the best features of the Prime Optics monocular is the case it comes in. The case is well designed, easy to carry, very protective, provides a snug fit (too snug maybe!). The cases on more expensive monoculars are nowhere near as good as the one you get on this one. I find I carry my new one less often than I did the Prime Optics because the case is so rubbish on the new one. So top marks for Prime Optics on the useability point. This is looks like a Chinese made product on behalf of a British brand. In other words, it is probably shipped from China, has a few prints and labels added at the British end, better customer friendly customer relations, a good case added and then shipped. I suppose most things are that way nowadays but don't think this is a Made in Britain product. You will get what you paid for, maybe less for the monocular, but it does come with a fantastic carry case.

Superb value for money
I usually use real quality optics, but wanted something I could take out in circumstances where it might be lost or damaged. The monocular is tough - Amazon dispatched it in an ordinary cardboard envelope with no protection, and it still worked fine. It has a well-designed gel case While the objective lens is not 52, it is at least 42, giving a bright image in reasonable light. The edge is slightly soft, but the centre is sharp. Depth of field is okay, and field of view good. It focuses easily and smoothly. It is very usable, even to someone used to optics costing many multiples of the price, and streets ahead of what you would expect for this money.

Poor quality optics and difficult to focus
I purchased this as a lightweight option instead of binoculars. For its magnification it is a bit bulky for what I wanted as it is heavily rubber armoured. This seems to make it difficult to achieve a clear focus with the device. It is a shame as it seems to be well constructed. I have now given up on it and have purchased a lightweight pair of binoculars for a similar price which have much better and finer focusing and clearer optics.
