If you purchase this item, make sure you have a two pickup hole Strat Body. A three pickup hole body is too thin and the pickups or a combo body and two humbuckers in that type of body will ruin your day friends. The mounting screws are too long and the body is too thin in the screw location for them. That being said, you can use two humbuckers, and then use a metal backing plate with machine screws to make it work if you really like the two humbuckers in a combo body configuration. I have Vega trem on my strat, which really floats. And new strings really require a lot of adjustments to balance the trem to its ideal position. This claw makes it a non-issue. Esp. after I put a hole in the back cover, I can adjust it without even removing it. Really nice, wish it were like that with the OEM claw. A word of caution though. The only slight problem is that one needs to be careful where it is installed. When installed all the way to the cavity wall in a strat, which is probably the most ideal position for it, the supplied screws go easily thru the relatively thin wall in that place and run into a pickup. It is possible to install farther in so that screws do not hit the pickup cavity, but then the adjustment range runs just a bit short for Vega trem. Not good. So I had to install it against the pickup cavity, but also had to trim the screws flush with the cavity walls. Which is not super trivial, given the location there, even with fine oscillating tools. I suppose one could trim it in a vise or something to the exact required depth, but I am not really that industrious. Maybe the inclusion of extra shorter screws would make it all easier.

This is the first upgrade I would do to any Floyd Rose tremolo guitar. I always hated adjusting the claw screws to balance string tension. This makes it super easy when changing string gauges. Highly recommended.

If you tinker with your string gauges or action on a Floyd Rose-equipped guitar, this is a no-muss, no-fuss option to get your bridge set correctly. You can even drill a small hole in the backplate so you never need to remove the six screws again.
