Worked well.
Did exactly what's I got it for, reducing them speed of my strimmer. No more broken line. Some instructions and betterment insulation could have helped.

Cured a noisy fan
As hoped, this has made a noisy 12-inch box fan bearable. Previously, even on its lowest speed the airflow was higher than needed and the accompanying roar intrusive. Now I can dial it down to keep the air circulating in my office space without having to turn the fan off to hold a phone conversation. As expected with PWM, it causes the fan motor to hum a little due to pulsing of the current, but for me that's a lot easier to ignore than the previous sound of a light aircraft on full throttle ready for takeoff. The unit was cheaper than the components I'd have needed to build a PWM controller myself. It was simplicity itself to fit - it's so small I incorporated it in the box fan housing rather than having to house it in a separate enclosure. A previous reviewer mentioned the lack of fitting instructions. True, there aren't any, but the connections are clearly marked on the circuit board: L and N for cable in and the same for cable out. Just two holes to drill - one for the potentiometer spindle and a smaller one for the position lock, screw the spindle nut back on and it's good to go.

For me, too noisy even for the home workshop...
Quite a few reviews have already mentioned the whine this speed controller produces, but for the price I put that aside as I wasn't going to primarily use it in a living space (like a living room/bedroom/etc). However, even for a home workshop setting with a couple of machines running most of the time, I found it to be quite annoying. Does the speed control function work? Yes. Was it easy to wire? Also yes, but I think I'll end up disconnecting it and use my recirculation/filter fan without any speed control on account of the whine.

Won't control the speed of a small induction motor
This unit works well for power tool speed control , and .ight dimming, but will not control The speed of small induction motor (320) w it runs at nor mal speed but it sounds like the motor is being driven harder at the top end of the pot but at the same speed

Works fine
I have a van de graff generator with a failed speed control. I bought this one to replace it and it was easy to fit.The speed control works fine and I can vary the charge as before no problems.

Didn't work as expected
didn't work as expected slowed a little but then was labouring the motor, maybe it was not compatible with my motor

Useless
Once again-an old saying confirmed: "You get, What you pay for".It's not expensive, so you can try, just to entertain yourself. Don't expect it will do any serious job. Forget about 2kW power. max is 100w bulb.

Works great as a fan controller
Use it to control the 300mm extractor fan in my shed
