599B Brass Soldering Iron Tip Cleaning Wire – no Water Solder Cleaner with Pot Base 599B-02

There are many fake brass tip cleaners which are actually just steel wool with a thin copper plating and these will damage your tips. A genuine brass tip cleaner, combined with some tip cleaner has restored my old soldering tip when I thought it was needing replacement. Nice little holder with replaceable brass wool when the time comes. Spend a bit more and don’t be tempted by the cheaper products, this was perfect for the money.

A very stable case with rubber pads that doesn't move around when you're cleaning the iron tip. There's enough brass wire for it to sit comfortably in the case, without popping out when you're pulling the iron out. The excess solder can be collected from the bottom of the case. Pricier than other such products, but definitely worth it.

I finally got tired of the cheap "brass" sponges that come in those no-name soldering kits and decided to just grab the actual Hakko 599B. You can tell the difference the second you touch it. A lot of the cheaper ones are basically just steel wool spray-painted to look like brass, which ends up scratching your tips and ruining them way faster than they should. This one is actual soft brass. It cleans the oxidation off my iron instantly without dropping the tip temperature too much. The shell is weighted well enough that it doesn't slide all over my workbench when I’m using it, which was a constant annoyance with my old one. If you’ve spent any decent money on a good iron, it’s worth spending the extra few bucks to get the genuine cleaner. It’s a simple tool, but it works exactly how it’s supposed to.

Cheap, does the job, and as advertised. Relatively small so good for storage for someone who solders time to time.

Amazing brass bush, if you woud like your tip nice and shiny this is the brass bush for you!. Remeber to tin your shiny tip before turning off your iron to save your tip from oxidising :-) So much better than those fake brass coloured bushes out there... try the magnet test, if your bush is attracted to the magnet, you need this Hakko tip cleaner, it's the best around!

Great value for the money .

I have used Hakko soldering equipment for years as it is very, very good. My previous cleaning wire was getting unusable so I opted for this Hakko one because of the name. Unfortunately I am disappointed with it. The actual case is so light that it just moves about when you use it. There's a sticker underneath to try to keep it in place which is fine but it's not great and useless after you move it. Size is fine and really it is no more sturdy than cheaper ones I've used. Yes it cleans the soldering iron tip but so without any. Overall disappointing for an otherwise great brand and not came for money.

Man kann sein Lötzinn sehr gut daran loswerden und auch die Messingwatte leicht austauschen bzw. reinigen / lötzinn rausholen. Der Topf steht fest und rutscht nicht hin und her. Preis / Leistung ist ok.

This is really good and cool looking. It works well because it removes excess solder from the tip of the soldering iron without cooling it. My soldering instantly improved by using this

This worked great for me. It came well packaged and seems sturdy enough. Does what it’s supposed to do and it didn’t feel cheap to me. Should last a long time.
