Better than I thought
Straight out of the box it looked very flimsy and unsubstantial. It was much lighter than my previous 2 vax steam mops and I thought I had made a mistake in purchasing it. I also discovered that you couldn’t add a cleaning fluid like my previous ones. What I thought was a cleaning fluid option was purely to add a fragrance. The one designed for it is expensive for what it is and according to reviews I read didn’t last very long so I have not bothered in buying it. However, having used it for a few weeks I’m very pleased with its performance. It cleans floors well and doesn’t leave the surface too wet. The design is also very good, there is a scrubber on the heel of the mop head which is easily employed without the need to detach anything, the cord winder is much more sturdy unlike my last Vax one which broke off almost immediately. It’s also much lighter than the vax which I wasn’t keen on at first but I’ve come to appreciate how much more manoeuvrable it is. The power cable is a little short compared with others but is a minor thing and the water reservoir could be a bit bigger but all in all a good product.

Very good as a steam mop but other attachments need improvement
On the whole a very good machine and very effective, and yes I would buy it again despite some of the niggling points. It does clean the hard floors beautifully (better when using a different brand pad though). I have had 3 previous steam cleaners over the last 15 years and would have to say this is the easiest and lightest to use and I am amazed how much direct comes off each time/week (in the first week I used it every day and still got a dirty pad each time!). So, I have waited a few months to add a review, to make sure I had gotten used to it. I would be embarrassed to say how many hours I wasted trying to choose this replacement steamer and how many reviews I read ( a number of which were quite misleading e.g. someone was obviously trying to fill up the water reservoir using the wrong hole!). The Polti website could do with a revamp to make it easier to compare or even filter on features across models, I had to phone up customer services at the end and even they struggled. Plus points: + It cleans the hard floors beautifully + It is very easy to refill and pretty much instantaneous to use directly from the cold tap! Plus you can fill it up and continue using it straight away (some models you have to wait for it to cool down) + There are lots of steam channels in the head (unlike some which only have one that spurts in several directions (Vileda)). You can even see the steam coming out the channels through the translucent purple plastic on top + Despite the grout head being a failure it does appear that the grout is getting cleaner just using the normal steam head (plus I am not sure why it appears I am getting so much dirt off each time, it wasn't so consistently noticeable with my other steamers) + I have cleaned some patches of dirty carpet in the lounge and it same up beautifully + It is very lightweight and easy to set up Comments on other reviews, that have not been an issue: = Holding down the button to get it to steam = Yes it does leave the floors slightly wet if you have it on maximum (what other setting would a girl want to use!). But I think that might be what helps penetrate and clean the grout. = It does stand upright on its own Dislikes: - The pads that attach to the bottom are quite synthetic and short length to the touch, I tried using some from a Vileda steam mop (which are a bit too big - see picture) and I get a lot more dirt off! - The grout head which was the main reason I bought this particular model is a big disappointment there are only a few tufts of bristles and they bend after a very short amount of usage (first 15 minutes without any really pressing). I had a 2 in 1 Shark mop which had a much better grout attachment, unfortunately after a couple of years the unit/button got too hot to be able to use the 2 in 1 element! - The sockette that fits to the glass cleaner is of poor quality and doesn't last long and you only get one and have to phone up polti to buy more - On a previous larger cylinder Polti model, the first I had there was a separate small head triangular shaped cleaning head that worked much better than the awkwardly shaped window cleaner that you use with the sockette - The cord length could be a foot longer which would allow the last bit of cable to fit in the cable holder without having to loop it around halfway (see picture) So yes I would recommend this, but this model could be made so much better with just a few minor changes!

Great new steam mop.
Really pleased with steam mop. Only bought for hard floors and seems to work great. Gets into corners better than old model.

Great for Hard Floors, Not Ideal for Carpets
This steamer cleans really well with a strong steam setting—perfect for marble, porcelain, and wood floors. It leaves a few streaks and isn’t ideal for carpets, but for hard floors, it’s powerful, effective, and easy to use.

Poor quality plastic
Product is good but quality of plastic is poor. The deodoriser component broke on the first day of use.

So easy to use, long wire-strong steam
Have to say this is such a good product for daily cleaning. The water part is small but I can get 3-4 rooms done with it without stopping. Just be careful with setting high on wooden floors as it left a mark on one of mine (which was my fault really as instructions do say put to medium). It gives a lovely streak free shine and takes away most dirt. The wire is lovely and long so you can reach far. The handheld part is a bit of work to set up but it has lots of parts to do showers, corners, couch etc. Really happy with this.

Has its uses
Have had this a while now. I use it from time to time to clean lino-type floors. It’s much easier than doing the job by hand, even with the need to sweep/ hoover first. Result is the floor gets “washed” much more often than before, so while it may not be as thorough (in my hands) as my cloth and bucket approach, the floors are probably much cleaner all in all.. It heats up quickly, is light and simple to use. I have also used the steam attachment to help me clean out my bins - didn’t do the job in itself, but did make it easier and less unpleasant. Had thought I would use it on the surfaces, shower, sinks etc, but in practice rarely do. It's a faff to reattach the other parts and I find it awkward hand-held. I also find it a bit slow/ inefficient using the attachments other than the floor cleaning swivel head (which I like). (Although the stream plus a separate hand held cloth has its uses). Find the sockettes a bit absurd- such a small cleaning surface. Not to say you might 't get on better with these options than I do. Did scald myself a couple of times before I fully understood all the pieces you needed to connect to use the hand-held attachment- entirely my mistake, but do recommend you read instructions carefully . (I would like it if there was colour-coding or similar to show which bits can attach to each other and which can’t as to me it wasn’t immediately obvious). Tried it once on a dirty bit of carpet but couldn’t get the knack. Chose this one rather than a heavier duty one partly for the price, partly for the faster heat up time, and because I read others saying they found it lighter and pleasanter to use than more robust machines they had access to. Think for me that wasn’t a bad decision. Don't regret the purchase - though find it does less than I thought, and there are lots of things you are not meant to use it for which I had thought possible - like cleaning the inside of the oven - steam and electricity don’t mix. I think they also warn against using it on laminates as the steam might loosen the glue - though I have used it (awkwardly) on the kitchen cupboards with as yet no ill effects. Could easily live without it. I called Polti when I misunderstood the instructions at the outset and they were supportive and pleasant to deal with. Have only had it a few months, but so far it all works fine. Economised with some after market cloths (the trapezoid shaped-ones) - in my case a mistake - the polti ones are much better made, wearing better, and a less scratchy texture.

Poor performance
Poor performance. I purchased this on 29th July, 2025. I found the steam generation was not good. I be also found the machine was somewhat flimsy. The lead is short. And to get to the point the machine stopped generating steam. The cloths remained dry. I’ve had a Polti Vaporetto before which lasted a few years hence the reason why I bought the same make again. This time I’m very disappointed. I really only got 2 months out of this steam cleaner.
