Very cool concept! Not sure if there needs to be more water or what is going on. Sand seems to get stuck and not sure how to get it to form mountains. I don’t mind rotating I manually. After playing with it all day and watching some YouTube videos, shake it a few times for about 30 sec to two min to form more air bubbles. Then, if you let it settle then flip it upside down instead of rotating it, it may form mountains. Wish it would have come with an instruction manual. Update: I have had it for several days now and since I have been playing with it, I figured out how to work it! I love it! I wish it came with instructions is the only downfall.

I like that this product has seemingly good quality glass, and has some weight to it. The sand colors are complimentary to each other. In a well lit area it can provide an artistic sandscape. It "can", but very hard to manipulate it to do so. The reason is there is simply too much air inside. Half the sediment is held aloft by a frame-to-frame thick ness if bubbles. No matter how much you shake (to make bubbles smaller) inevitably your gonna want more sand to fall. Unfortunately, tapping it it slightly or even a slight rotation flattens the dropped sand. Removing any sharp peaks and valleys you try to create. in other words,the sand above the bubble layer will be stuck their unable to slip past it's defensive perimeter. My room averages 68°f. Perhaps that's too cool for tie water, sand, air medium to function at it's best. Aside from a mechanical outpatient procedure to drill a microscoping hole and extract air via syringe an, a small gauge needle, and epoxy or other sealant .I don't way to alleviate this issue.

This looked really cool, but the bubbles didnt make the sand move hardly at all. We even tried shaking it up to get things moving and that didnt help. Disappointed.

I was very excited to get this piece as I thought it would be a nice relaxing thing to add to my desk at work. Turns out it created more aggravation than anything. When I first got it the sand was all caked together & wouldn’t move. I tried shaking it & periodically turning it at 90° angles to get all the sand moving. It took quite a while for that to happen. However, after multiple attempts for a few hours, every time flipped it all the sand would stay stuck at the top. I let it sit on the counter for about 8 hours & when I came & checked on in zero sand hand come down from the top. If I pick it up & shake it so the water touches the sand a little will FINALLY move but there’s clearly too much air & not enough water in it & no way to adjust either. I tried being patient with it as some of the reviews said but frankly this level of effort is not worth it to me.

This sandscape might work too well, because I find myself zoning out at work and just watching the sand fall. I’ve recently figured out that I’m likely on the spectrum, and I’m using sensory toys to try to help myself stay regulated. The sandscape is beautiful and gives me something pleasant to focus on when feeling overwhelmed. The size is nice, and the blue sand with white and coppery accents are gorgeous. It looks like actual snow capped mountains. It’s so easy to use, too - simply flip over and place in the included stand.

I was surprised at the high quality of this item and even more surprised it doesn't cost more than it does. I was concerned it would look cheap due to the price but it is actually quite elegant and would be a beautiful addition to any decor. It’s fun to keep turning it and watching the different shapes it makes. The sand moves around the bubbles in order to make the shapes, and you can manipulate where the bubbles go to make it do different things. True, you may need to add/subtract a little air. The more or larger the bubbles, the more slowly it will fall since they create more of an obstacle for the sand to get around (which to me is better since it creates more interesting designs, but that is purely a preference thing). If you do want to add/subtract any air, don't let that intimidate you, it's extremely easy to do and takes seconds.

I have had slightly smaller ones before, this one is a perfect larger size. I keep taking pictures, I can not believe how beautiful, artful and joyful the unique fallen designs are! I absolutely love this item
