Command & Conquer: Kane's Wrath (Expansion Pack) (PC DVD)

Kane's Rage
This expansion, while it revolves around the Brotherhood, provides stuff for other factions too. It has only Nod missions, but either way, providing 4-5 missions for each faction still would've had to cram loads in.Nod actually don't get that much - the Reckoner is useful but requires other units, while the Specter is a good artillery half though some players would probably prefer the Beam Cannon, which now only requires an Operations Center. The most notable thing is how much cheaper the Avatar became. Both of the Brotherhood's special forces factions have an infantry theme. The Black Hand can upgrade their Confessors and Rocket Militia with a flamethrower, and it has an anti-tank upgrade. The Marked of Kane have many cyborg infantry, which cannot be crushed and have EMP weapons. As for GDI players like me, there's the Shatterer, which, besides providing another artillery unit earlier in the game, isn't all that notable. Then there's the Slingshot, which is a good anti-air ability, but it is too fast for an assault force, as it will usually arrive first and can't attack ground forces. The Hammerhead, flying APC, provides some aircraft variety. It can take on either of the Firehawk's roles or empty garrisoned buildings from above. Technically this makes the Orca more usable. The GDI special forces include one faction that uses the walkers from the Tiberian Sun era, or advanced versions instead of basic tanks. The second mainly has variant units (different weaponry rather truly different units) except for Zone Raiders, who have some anti-air ability in addition to sonic rifles. This special forces group's main distinction is in different support powers and such, though.Because both GDI special forces factions remove both artillery units for an improved version of one, GDI is the only main faction with unique - the Zone Troopers, Juggernaut and, oddly, even the Shatterer. The Scrin meanwhile have Ravagers, fragile troops that can detonate anything that contains Tiberium, and Mechapedes, segmented vehicles which are somewhat unique and can be given many different weapon loadouts. They can be fragile if the enemy focuses on the front segment, however. One Scrin special forces group has heavier versions of some vehicles, the other has faster aircraft and some infantry that can't attack but can mind control other units. Finally, there are huge units of some kind for each faction, each of which can garrison to gain additional weapons. These are powerful, the only downside being sometimes the battle is over long before the battle is over!Anyway, I bought this to add variety to the GDI, and I'm satisfied.

Fun for non serious Sci-Fi type commanders
Never really been a fan of C & C, however since playing this and C & C 3 for which this is an add on I must say I am quite happy. The graphics, so long as the PC can handle the settings, are actually very good. There is the occasional bit of "slow down" when playing the larger missions, but this is to be expected.Skirmish mode is lots of fun and the Global Conquest mode adds a new way to play, but you really do need to sit through the tutorial first to understand how it works. Each faction has its own unique units...the "splinter factions" of NOD are fun to use in skirmish. The new "Epic" units are fun, but don't really seem necessary and seem a bit too strong (my single GDI MARV unit destroyed an entire NOD army and its base single handed with minimum damage sustained).Old favourites are still included such as the GDI Orca and NOD Stealth Tank, but new units such as the GDI Hammerhead make a welcome addition to the battlefield. In addition, being able to garrison units inside "Epic" units as well as the GDI Hammerhead and (depending on faction) your resource gatherer...offering this vital unit 'some' protection...adds a nice ability. As far as the campaign is concerned, so far I have found it quite enjoyable and the cut scenes are well acted. I think that as long as you don't take the game too seriously you will like it....its not a "Total War" game for serious rts buffs but rather a bit of a laugh for when you feel like taking over the world...

Pleased
Was pleased to discover this game did not need persistent internet to work. I have the first C&C 3 and was interested in C&C4 until I saw what was required. C&C 3 Kanes Wrath puts some cool new spins on the game like playing it just as much as the others.

C&C 3: Kane's Wrath
On the skirmishes there are extra vehicles and units. The best feature is the Global Conquest which is a "war" and you can choose to auto-resolve or play each battle in a similar way to Medieval total war.Remember that it is an expansion pack so you need to have C&C3 already.

Hardly play this, original is better
If you're board of the original Tiberium Wars then this may add some life back into your C&C game play. But for me, the original still keeps me entertained enough not to play this.Online play with Tiberium Wars is where its at, although people like to use the same rush tactics which can get annoying.

Fantastic game!
A brilliant expansion to an already great series. The single player is good fun but the real part to rts' is the skirmish mode. This game does not falter on that front either providing hours of fun at lans.I've yet to encounter any DRM problems, just make sure to uninstall the game or deactivate the pc if you uninstall it from that machine and you'll be fine.

A good expansion but could be better
Its a good expansion to tiberium wars with added features and missions but they are only nod missions which is a shame that you couldn't use GDI and Scrin units in missions
