1st things first I want to clarify, I live in the south so we don’t get that much snow. I have some driving experience in snow since I lived in Canada for a bit but that’s it.This weekend I went on a family ski trip up in Boone, NC. There was a really bad winter storm and after having this in the back of my car for a year I finally got the opportunity to test them out. There was about 4-5 inches of snow, the weather was about 22° with winds of up to 20+ mph and dropping so there was ice forming beneath the snow already. I’ll break this down as best as I can in terms of my experience and an unbiased perspective.1) installation, removal, and fitting:- very easy and straight forward, took me less than 10 minutes. I watched one quick video and was able to do it in little to no time (specifically the ones that were attached to this product here on Amazon). Also there is a tag on the socks that tells you which side goes on the outside of the tire which is the red side.- The package comes with gloves so that was very helpful and a great thing for them to do because with the cold weather and slick wet tires, your definitely going to need them unless you want to be struggling in the cold for more than 15 mins.- the chart for sizing was actually very accurate. For representation I have a 2010 Toyota RAV4. It’s FWD with 4 cylinders and my tires are 225/65R17 101H. The socks went on it very snug without much of a struggle and stayed on my tires without a problem never once having slipped off even with all the sharp turns around Beech Mountain and Sugar Mountain.- I will say it was slightly tough to take off, I would say it took me between 10-15 minutes of me having to pull at the edges constantly to get both of the snow socks loose and off, but granted my fingers were numb from the freezing cold of the 20° ish degrees weather and with winds up to 20+ mph.2) Performance:- I want to mention once again that I only used two snow socks on my front tires since my car is Front Wheel Drive (FWD) and my back tires were Michelin Cross Climate 2 tires which are graded for snow weather too.- While I was moving my car back and forth to fit the socks on, I noticed that the snow was sticking to the snow socks. These snow socks picked up the snow really well, leaving very noticeable patches of grass exposed. From what I read this is a good sign since the snow that is packed onto the snow socks provides great traction on the snow on the road. I didn’t believe it at first until I started test driving it and noticed a huge difference.- going up the mountain was no problem, the snow socks did what they were supposed to do. They dug into the snow and got me up the mountain even with traffic going slow and even stopping on an incline.- speaking of stopping, going down the mountain with these felt pretty good. Granted I had my car between 2nd and 1st gear trying to keep a balance between my transmission and my brakes to not overload either of them, but the snow socks definitely played there park in making sure I didn’t slide out.- In terms of quality these handled pretty well. After taking them off they were still in pretty good condition so I will definitely be using them again later on. Mind you I drove with these in the winter storm between an hour to two hours so they kept together really well and never slipped off once. I repeat that part again because I was worried about the sizing and with all the sharp turns they would slip off but they did not at all, truth be told the way I put them on is the way the stayed until I pulled them off.- one thing I will mention is that when you get to speeds close to 40mph you will start to feel a bit of a bumping sound/feeling. I concluded that it was the snow packed onto the socks that caused this but regardless if I am not mistaken, the creators of this sock do also state that these are only meant for speeds below 40-45mph so please keep that in mind.In conclusion, these are definitely worth the money for sure and I 100% plan on buying another pair for my back tires or as a backup. these were great on a RWD van in snowy ice conditions going up hills. Watched some YT videos and they outperform other socks and chains. Only downside with socks is they fall apart if driven on dry roads. So if you need them to get out of your driveway and house but in town or on the highway is dry, you have to take them off. Also- unclear but may not be accepted by chain control.I knew these things going in and watched reviews. Easier to put on then chains. Surprisingly good grip on icy hard pack. I do think they outperform chains in some conditions but nothing outperforms chains on real ice. Also- did not get to test them in fresh snow.

We just bought these for a trip where we might run into snow going over hwy 80 to Reno and then down to Las Vegas. The storm did not materialize but I was glad we had these for our Tesla model Y.I trial fit them in the driveway it took 30 minutes to get both tires covered. That is having never put on snow socks before. I had them off and packed back up in 15 minutes. Super easy in dry 48 degree weather but I expect they will go on as easy in snowy 32 degree weather out on the side of a road.I can not speak to how well they work or what it was like driving in them.

I live in Southern California. Really excited to use this for a snow trip after seeing the reviews. I really didn't want to use chains/cables to my suv because of the potential risk of damaging something in the vehicle so seeing this option worked out for me. First off the pros, It came in a nice bag. Also, it really was very easy to install (took about 5 mins) and Caltrans accepted it as a legal traction device. Now for the bad stuff. I probably drove with it on for about 10 miles in snowy conditions. Followed the instructions in the bag to a T. The fastest I drove on it was probably 15mph and was letting everyone else pass me. Right when I got to the hotel, I wanted to take it off right away for washing like the instructions said, to prevent freezing. Taking it out is much more difficult because it adheres to the shape og the tire so it requires a lot of force to pull out. Also takes longer if it's really cold, even when using the gloves they provide. Taking one side off took maybe 15 minutes. After taking the first one out I went to the second one and it was ripped and pulling it off made it worse. The whole thing ended up ripping in half. I washed both with warm water and both were extremely frayed and the other one had a hole in it. This is just my first (and obviously last) time using it. Ended up buying chains anyway. Not sure if I recommend anyone getting this but Socal got a lot of snow this week so if really snowy conditions caused this much damage, I'm not sure how it will do when it's slushy ice/mud that you drive these on.

I only have to drive occasionally in the snow, so I don't need full-on snow tires, and I bought these to keep in the back of the car to get me out of a jam. Finally needed them about a week ago when I got stuck climbing the hill to my home after a storm rolled in while I was gone for the day. I spent a few minutes putting them on, and the snow no longer was an issue. Got home with absolutely no drama. These things grab really, really well in the snow. I was incredibly surprised; no wheel spin at all. Easier to install than chains. Another plus: a smoother ride; you can't tell there's anything on the tires.Very easy to unpack when removing from the carton, and very easy to re-pack after use...just let them dry, fold them like towels, and they go right back into the case with no drama.I have no experience driving on asphalt for short distances, so I can't say how long they would hold up. I wouldn't expect them to last long, though, so I'd recommend only putting them on your tires when you are actually driving on snow. Probably best to keep the speed down, also, like the manufacturer recommends, even though you can't really feel that they're on the car.

I got these primary for plowing with my SUV. A particular spot in my driveway is pretty steep. Usually when plowing I avoid plowing this spot, otherwise I need to winch myself back out. I didn't want regular chains because they will chew up the driveway.I finally got to test out these socks. I plowed this troublesome section of my driveway first without the socks, and sure enough I had to winch out. I then put on the socks, and viola, I backed right out, a little bit of slipping on the rear tires, which is expected, but the front tires pushed me right up without even a whimper. Wonderful!Granted, I don't need to make any sharp turns plowing my driveway, so I don't know how well they would hold up for more extreme use. But for me, these seem perfect so far ... well, perfect except for the price. They are a bit pricey, but worth it if they hold up over the long run. Also sad you're not supposed to drive over 25 MPH, but I think that's probably a safety thing since these cover the entire tread of the tire, therefore you lose the primary safety features of rubber at higher speeds. But they do feel extremely well made and durable.It took me about 5 minutes, total, to install these which was the first time I tried to do so. I'll probably be able to do it faster next time. I saw in the photo and video that I didn't do a good job with that passenger side, I put it on like that, it didn't slip like that from driving.I'll be heading out in the wilderness with winch and these socks for more testing, but so far so good.For those that may be wondering like many about "how" can these work. I can feel small shards of metal embedded in the material, so these seem to act like studded tires, except the studs per inch is significantly higher than that of studded tires. And they don't protrude so much that they too would chew up a driveway, they are just at the surface of the material. The metal is on the inside too so it can grab onto the rubber as well.

Works as it should on snow and ice. I went through a snow storm with roads unplowed consisting of at least 6, 8 inches of snow quite well. There were parts of the road I thought I'd get stuck in but these babies went through fine. I did have to back up a bit on a heavily snow filled part and push on through, I made it through fine. There's good traction. I drive a small sedan that is also quite low. It's a little tough to put them on which takes a bit of strength for my vehicle, I can put two on in about 10 minutes.BUT...these guys do NOT last long and will get damaged real easy if you go over 20mph on DRY roads. These are meant to be driven of up to 25mph on snowy and icy roads. On dry roads, you will have to go real slow. My car made a lot of noise from the wheels when I went 30 on a dry road, after parking and checking the socks, they were slightly damaged, I've only used these on about 4 drives. These socks will also catch snow inside the socks which may damage them even further especially with ice.MAINTAIN and GO SLOW with these socks well and they should last longer. If you've been through a lot of snow in one trip, be sure to take them off to dry after your trip is done for the day.These socks are really just meant for more temporary emergency situations really. If heavy snow hits your town, put them on. DO NOT use it for long and highway drivings. This is only good for short distances and in town driving.Go get snow tires if you want to avoid all of this hassle. I give it a 3/5, works very well in the snow but lacks durability and are very prone to damage.

It lasted 2 weeks. We had a severe winter here in Maramures and I used them all day long. They helped me a lot in the biggest winter at minus 17. A huge snowland was evevrywhere and under my car was hard snow that could not be taken down. I used the socks and they were erodated by the big snow, so they were abused at maximum. Still I was hoping they will last at least 3 month...Would I ask for a refund? I don't think so, that was a very extreme weather and their resistance is limited. But I want ppl to know, they are not tough for such weather.
