Sheaffer100 Series Medium Nib Fountain Pen - Matte Black

Love fountain pens and love this one and it is a pleasure to use.

Good heavy fountain pen with medium nib. Writes smoothly ink flows well. Came with converter for bottled ink and works well.

A very nice pen, takes cartridges or old style filler included.Writes very nicely.

As others have said the smooth barrel could be less slippery. I like the concave style and suits me well but a little practice this feels fine. I received this as a present and love the style, solid feel and weight. The lid feels lovely as its that smooth push and then clicks in. Out of the box the lid did not move but after 3 months I have noticed the lid moves from side to side whilst on. This isn't a problem and stills feels solid.As with fountain pens a break in period is important and leaving the pen sitting for a while will effect ink flow, so when you restart writing you may get a bit less ink to paper, I piston converter with the Skrip ink bottle, excellent and the ink writes very well, and looks darker now after 3 months, maybe I'm writing slower. Compared to a brand new Cross Century Classic II the Sheaffer I feel has better build quality and writes better and feels more solid.Finish is matt black and is quite hard wearing, next to keys in a bag you might find it goes from a uniform finish to smooth, but it hasn't scratched yet and I think the paint is hard wearing. Time will tell in the side of a shoulder bag, if in a brief case expect the finish to last for a lot longer.The clip is very solid and once in you will be happy knowing gravity will not let it escape even on the thinnest of shirts.The chrome appointments are wonderful and add a sense of class and at this price tag are hard to match (again compared to the Cross C C II).I hope this review helps and you will be very happy with this product and will inspire confidence in Sheaffer. I will be buying more products from them for gifts and maybe another for my self.

I brought this hoping to experience a reminder of the great days of Shaeffer. Unfortunately the nib is of poor quality and the pen itself poorly balanced. The best days of Shaeffer are sadly long past.

Very nice penSmooth ink flow

Le stylo est très qualitatif. Il est livré dans un bel étui. Tout en métal et une finition noir mat très belle. Bonne prise en main et écriture fluide.

Utilizzo quotidianamente penne stilografiche e oramai non posso più farne a meno da quando ho iniziato le scuole medie (15 anni fa).Ho preso questa penna per un uso universitario e lavorativo sperando di trovare un prodotto valido in una fascia economica di mercato; diciamo che assolve egregiamente al suo compito ma ho penne migliori nella mia collezione (anche su questa fascia di prezzo).Il pennino è scorrevole e ha un buon flusso d'inchiostro, è abbastanza rigido e la misura media è forse leggermente più grossa del dovuto (di poco). La costruzione è molto classica ma sembra reggere nel tempo in quanto a qualità.Nota dolente: il converter e le cartuccie perdono qualche goccia all'interno del corpo penna, non fuoriesce dallo stesso in quanto è chiuso a vite ma bisogna prestare attenzione alle operazioni di caricamento o ci si sporca inutilmente. Non credo sia un difetto dell'esemplare da me acquistato ma un difetto nel meccanismo di "ancoraggio" dei converter e delle cartuccie che è sostanzialmente molto lasco e diverso da tutte le altre penne in mio possesso.

Love it!It took a while to break in but once it did, .... very nice.Smooth but not so smooth your pen slips on the paper.I use the adapter (that comes with the pen) for the ink storage (sorry, can't recal what the actual name of the thingy is called.)I use the Sheaffer Skrips Blue (Slovenia)ink and I ALWAYS get compliments on it.It's got god weight both posted and unposted.The only drawback that I can see (feel) is the part of the barrel where you grip the penis polished smooth...very smooth and the pen tends to slip and little or twist. It took a while ot figure out how to hold it and write with it so that wouldn't happen.I think this is a good "starter" fountain pen especially for the price.

Tiene una calidad y unos acabados de alto nivel. Nada que envidiar a plumas mucho más caras.Por peso, equilibrio, fluidez....Estoy muy satisfecho con la compra y la recomiendo por relación calidad/precio.
