Kit is great... installation not simple
Received quickly, and as usual, in perfect condition. I had read some reviews that the instructions might have been a little vague, and was ready for that. If someone has no experience working under the hood of a car, this might be a bit of a challenge to install. There might be a simple "disconnect accessory wiring connector"... but unless you know the specific way to release these connectors that are made to not come apart accidentally... even that might be challenging. I found a couple of attachments that were not mentioned in the instructions, that took some thinking about how to disconnect without destroying anything, and still be able to reasemble. The entire install took about five and a half hours... and I've worked under the hood of many a car, since 1967. I am not an automotive professional and do work very methodically... so maybe someone else could install in less time. But I don't think anyone else's install could look any 'cleaner' than mine.

K&N FIPK C5 Corvette
I installed this product on my 2002 Corvette and it made gave it a large amount of low end torque. Product works great, the instructions on cutting the radiator to make the flap in my opinion was hard to follow. Little better instructions and I would have had the product installed in around 2 hours.

It's not the right one!
This is supposed be rolled molded, but there's seams on the sides of the tube. Then on the bottom of the filter there's no hole for the air tube. 2004 Z06. I expected a better tube, and the filter needs the pressure release hole. 2004 Z06. I've had these cars for twenty years. This was $599. with tax would be $644. It's just the wrong thing. The picture ๐ธ doesn't match, ^ nor the description. I never had to cut my shroud. Fine if you want to, but it "should" fit without doing that. The directions tell you to mount all this heavy steel, kind of defeats the purpose of having the light carbon up at the front nose of your car. The first picture is what I expected

Upgrade worth the work!
Had it not been for the vast performance improvement in my 2002 Vette, I would have rated this product much worse, due to lengthy installation process. The instructions try to lead you step by step with near-worthless photos, but then they leave some steps out. Maybe, thinking you have done this before & therefore are familiar with the installation? It would have helped to explain WHY some steps were being taken, so you could more easily read between the lines. Once the radiator shroud mod was completed, it was a piece of cake. All parts assembled perfectly & precisely. However, one part--the "hose mender"--was the wrong size & shape for my application & necessitated a trip to Home Depot for the proper $2.00 part. Allow yourself plenty of time for this project--maybe 5hr? It took me 8.5, counting the trip to Home Depot. I read somewhere, that this is the most complicated of K&N's installations. Don't get in a rush, and the end result will astound you, both in looks & performance!
