Great product used to trim kitchen cupboard doors works very well and very easy to use. Great tool

There's not much not to like about this. It's much better than the cheapo versions and it works really really well. You can cut straight edges on both sides of the edge banding or bevel on one side (or bevel on both sides if you do two passes. The only reasons I didn't give it 5 stars is that I think it done come with a couple of spare blades at the price and also that it doesn't feel particularly robust, ie I'm not convinced it'll stand the test of tinde getting other tools rattling in around it in the tool box but that's maybe unfair because I haven't managed to blunt the blade or break the tool yet. Do yourself a favour and buy once of these instead of the cheaper version. If you're worried about the negatives of my review then you can always spend a LOT more to but the Veritas version.

It does the job

At first I was impressed, easy to use just place it over the edge(s) to be trimmed and squeeze together then slide along the panel. It cut well to start with. It uses multiple blades to do the initial trim and then a bevel cut to finish. But it doesn't always work and I found a lot of edges needed softened with manual sanding. The blade life is poor though (and I couldn't find replacement parts). I used this on 50 panels, that were only being banded on one edge. Around panel 20 I noticed I was starting to get tear out as the blades dulled. By panel 30 I was using this "one sided" basically not squeezing it together and lightly using the one edge to trim but not all the way down, then finishing with hand sanding. I think it's a good idea, poorly executed and the fact that the blades are accessible and screwed in but you can't get replacements is nutty. It does take a little hand strength to adequately squeeze the tool together so be aware of that if you have poor grip strength.

Tried this as I usually just used the chisel edge method in the past. A little awkward to get used to but once I got the hang of it it was simple to use. Recommended.

I was surprised at just how easy and pain-free this was for trimming iron-on edge banding. Make sure you squeeze it tight enough then whoosh along the edge and you're done. Brilliant.

this trimmer give nice clean finish. You'll need to push a bit but otherwise it's easy to use. Two blades on either side do the job perfectly - both edges in one go. little bit of finishing off with sand paper and you get perfect result every time I wish there was a single-sided version to trim pieces more than 1" thick

Quality

A necessity if you are doing any edge banding -- even a homehandyman will find this worth having on the shelf when the time comes. Mine works well and is easy to use. Stanley is a trustworthy brand.
