The picture shows three geodes - one white, one bright purple and one blue. So do you actually find the coloured geodes as advertised? Or is false??

I guess there is a small chance of getting coloured ones but the 2 or 3 sets i bought were all just plain quartz. So all clear crystal. I did have 1 fluorite which glows under uv light. Pretty cool but was let down. The description is misleading. But still fun to crack open.

How many different geodes are there?

Our Geode Best Kit should contain 5 various types of geodes. Primarily white crystals will be found since many different minerals produce a white crystal (e.g. quartz, fluorite, calcite can all be white)

Are these real geodes or man made in a lab? If real, where do they come from?

Hi, The box says they are real: 'Break open real geodes'. I am no expert so don't know if it's true; I don't know where they are from precisely either. I can't find reference to where they are from the box or instructions. Sorry can't be any more help. They look very real, compared to ones I've seen in museums etc. It is great fun, but not easy to break in to them. Most of ours we had to do outside on the firm ground rather than on table top, due to the force needed to break in to them - as an added bonus we got some great photos of sparks flying as we hit the ones containing metal (the iron pyrite in particular)! Some are very soft though, so you do need to start gently just in case. Hope this helps.
